DKS Anice flavor lacking.......flavor?

I'm making my own juices atm, anise being my all-day flavor. I got hold of a few anise flavors from dks and even though it states on the bottle '3-6 drops per 10ml', I find that totally unbelievable. I'm having to add 18 drops per 10ml just to get anywhere near the strength of high-street brands (I'm sure that's gotta be unhealthy). When I try one I've bought the flavor-hit just knocks me off my feet!

I've noticed Hangsen are now selling their flavors (Anise included) so gonna order 2x5ml to give that a try.

Any idea what could have gone wrong. Could this dks c**p have been frozen to extend shelf-life? Or even just gone past it's best?

I use FA Anise at 2% and it gives me more than enough flavor. The manufacturer recommends starting at 1%.
