I know that about the cables. I just updated the "twin" to the latest firmware using the same cable. There is nothing else I can think of.

Tomorrow I will remove the board from the mod. Maybe a miracle will happen once I dissolder the battery. I doubt it but it really looks like it went to sleep to never wake up again. Maybe a real "power out" will have some effect.

I'll rma it if it doesn't wake up.
There must be a course on me. Only can have one dna of each model working at any given time.
I remember when I built my second dna 40... The next day I dropped the first dna 40 (it actually flew out of my hand across the room) and shattered the screen (small version).

I don't remember if I gave an update on my DNA200 problem (the third one in a row gone bad....)

The mod I was Pif'd was 2 months out of warranty, But Vaporshark has extended the warranty for me and sent me a mailing lable. Mod was shipped off a couple of days ago. That is great customer service (though I do wish they would just give the year warranty that the board already has on it from evolv). They have definitely kept themselves in the running for future mod purchases.

Well guys. One of my dna 200 boards died in its sleep :(

It looks completely bricked. No pulse of life, no screen, nothing.

Time for a rma I guess. :(

Plug it in, start from a cold power down, start escribe and do a forced firmware update, if it sees the recovery device it will apply it. If not, brick.

Hi guys.

This morning I unsoldered the battery, left the board rest for 10 minutes and then plugged it one more time in the computer... It booted :)

I soldered the battery back and I'm vaping on the device right now.

Seems like the firmware or software or whatever went into deep sleep.

Hope it doesn't happen again. Unsoldering/soldering the battery and balance leads is a pain

i just wanted to say evolv is an awesome company. every company should take a lesson from their level of cs. it is rock solid but if does break they stand behind it 100%. even if it is a third party mod ofany make. simply amazing. i know of no other company that provides service like that. don't even ask for proof of purchase. simply a wonderful company. they even answer their phone. simply amazing. do you think i love this company and their product? yes!

i assume this was about me but i did not get to see what was said. guys, i only have one finger that works on one hand now. if it was about me could you please give me a break? i know proper grammar and punctuation. it is just very difficult for me to implement it now. seeing that this is a rather casual forum i take it was okay. if i am writing a business letter i obviously do my best. it is just quite difficult for me now. i am surprised of all forums a question of ones grammar came up here. i would expect it on say a professional attorney''s forum but not really here. if in fact it was about me but i can assume so. look, i apologize i am severely disabled. please do not pm me about this.

edit: thank you retired1. i appreciate that you feel it is okay under the circumstances.

Don't worry, most of us had no issues with your posts. In fact, they are far more understandable then many I have read here. Sorry about your personal difficulties.

One thing that could make posting easier for you.....If you have an android phone, you can access the forum through an app called Tapatalk. On tapatalk you can use the phones voice to text feature :D

thank you guys. i really appreciate it. in my prime i certainly did not type like this. i am of course not doing this on purpose and i am glad most of you understand that.

unfortunately i can not go to a car forum because all of the 16 year olds will jump all over me. however, i find it very interesting how many of them have a mercedes s65. even though i can no longer drive i find it amusing.

seriously though, i am glad for the most part we have a civil and intelligent conversation here. i guess this is a different crowd than a car forum lol.

the most important thing i want to say is ecigs saved me from certain death. my cancer is doing much better. i feel if i had continued to chew and smoke i would not be writing this now. sure, ecigs have opponents in the medical field but i am betting in 10 years they eat their words.

Sorry you had to deal with that disrespect. Its not you, it's an Evolv thing with some people that they feel the need to attack any fan of the company. Don't take it personally!

nic_fix,

I'll give you 1 for 2. :)

The folks that find it necessary to critique peoples writing style just never learned tolerance. Nor do they generally have any idea why a person's typing skills may not live up to their standards. For myself the older I get the less of what I am thinking and want to say makes it intact to my fingertips.

The one portion of your post that I don't believe I agree with is your comment about "opponents in the medical field". I have observed that most criticism regarding Vaping comes from people with some personal ideology about smoking and/or vaping and that does not preclude bought and paid politicians.

As far as the medical profession my General Practitioner and Cardiologist think that Vaping is the best thing I have ever done for the health of my body and prolong the quality and length of my life.

Nicotine is not a carcinogen, PG and VG are used in respiratory treatment machine for people with damaged lungs. It is also so benign that it is the primary ingredients of "Artificial Tears" eye drops used by older folks that are having trouble with dry eyes. In closing you can find Nicotine in varying degrees in a lot of plant matter that we eat and if you can find more than one or two prepared foods that don't contain PG and VG I'll buy you a cup of coffee.

Salute,
George
