Information:

Another software feature (General Tab) with the DNA200 we haven't mentioned (remember.. still beta... subject to change) is what I would call "Profiles" (actual names still to be decided). A number of them can be set up in the software and uploaded to the device. Changes can be made in the software and in the device.

Example of a possible profile:
Switching tanks from one to another.
You could set up a "Profile" for each tank and as you switch just select the appropriate "profile".

What to include in the profile? You decide.

Want to select coil material? Want to set the TCR (custom) ? Want to set the temp and wattage ? Want to set the preheat level, punch, duration? Want to lock the ohms?

Again preface this info as beta in nature.... (this explanation may not be as precise and as detailed as someone else may say but is just the best effort offered at this time....)

Quick one set up:

Coil Material: Nickel 200
Preheat Power: 75 watts
Preheat Punch: slider set to 5
Preheat Time Limit: 1 second
Power: 20 watts
Temperature Setting: 430F
Ohm’s Lock: not set
Profile Theme (name): Atlantis OCC
Custom Screen: default (no screen desired)

That's probably the most helpful bit of information I've seen for the DNA 200. It solves several of the concerns that have been swirling around in my head.

Can you tell us how many profiles can be created and whether they can be user named?

From what I gleaned, yes, user named

Since the absolute lowest you would be able to take a lipo is around 3.2v per cell....it seems this board doesn't boost, only bucks if the max voltage output is 9 volts.... No need to boost if the max output is lower then the lowest output the batteries can give :p
Sent with one hand, the other is busy vaping.

    Ahhh...you're right...and @suspectK too. Thanks!
My memory of the min input voltage was wrong. I should have done the digging for the specs.

Well, either that second inductor is a hugely oversized part of a boost circuit for charging or they're using two supplies in parallel ("two-phase") to reduce parts size.

That's less than it costs to ship. Have you checked what the prices are?

Are you comparing the same level of service?

You're smarter than I am Travis. All of my old mods are collectors...mostly dust collectors:facepalm:
I PIF'd my dust collectors once I got the evic vt and invader mini in the ecf 15 million contest. I've been bitten by the TC bug, and don't wanna go back :p
Now I need to find a way to try out some of the other tc mods :p

Thank you, I totally missed that picture. Only saw the other lower-res ones. They're using the bq76925 AFE chip to help handle cell safety. I've used that chip! It's a fantastic choice.

For those who don't know what an analog front end (AFE) chip does...
    - It makes the job of measuring cell voltages, current, and temperature by a microntroller much easier.
    - It has on board cell balancing capability under the control of the, IIRC, Atmel microcontroller used by the DNA200.
    - Can be run directly from the 3S LiPo pack and provide 3.3V to run the rest of the circuitry, e.g., the microcontroller.
    - Can wake up the microcontroller when current starts to flow so the microcontroller can be sleeping otherwise. This reduces the current drawn from the battery pack when not firing. Or, this feature can be usec to trigger an alert if current exceeds a certain value.
    - If the microcontroller is programmed for it, the AFE makes it easy to detect a cell that is failing or can no longer be balanced properly due to damage or aging.
    - All actions are handled by the microcontroller though. Its firmware determines what is to be done with the information it gets, including shutting down for low voltage, when and how to balance, etc.

    Thanks for that.
I have previously eyeballed the chips on Ti's website they have some really cool up to 8s mini micro chargers but they still take up a lot of real estate and board wiring is extensive.

Here's Ti's take on getting a 3s charger small and it is small just huge considering evolv's regulator populus on a 200 watt reg..

    Actual size

Here's just a single layer out of 4 layers of how much wiring is needed.

Yep this DNA200 board is a work of art, I hope it's as badboned as we hope..
BTW they will not sell public that board, I guesstimate the liability issues lol but they give ya the files to make it..

Gotta get out before the prices totally dropoff. I still have one of my original protanks which has recently came back into occasional use and my EVOD twist is still used by the wife when she wants her menthol. I use the original evic with my protank. When i get a DNA200 the Sigelei 150 is getting sold to.
