You could save yourself from making 50 posts on the subject by just showing the build.
I think he just wants the person to post all the variables that he had assumed, being the only thing he was told was 22g nickel so he can turn around and tell them they are wrong.

Max input of the DNA200 is 23a. Output is 55a.

As I noted, when you use three cells, one can reduce the required current draw from the battery.

Which leaves you zero margin of safety. Actually, less than zero at 3.0V per cell under load. Western engineers do not design consumer products that way.

Also, go ahead and pull 30A continuous from a VTC5 and let us know if you can still hold it in your hand after a minute or so.

(a) The battery can operate at 30A for a short period of time before hitting 3 V per cell. It can operate for a substantially longer period of time if operating at around 23A if used in a 3 cell configuration.

(b) batteries in vaping are not operated at continuous 30A. Also, if you operated a 2s LiPo of similar capacity at continuous discharge, you wouldn't want to hold it in your hand either.

(c) "Asmodus is an American vapor company manufacturing and distributing here in Los Angeles, California." They make the Snow Wolf 200, so apparently Western engineers do design consumer products that way. ;)

Well maybe I'm old-school, but I sure as heck wouldn't design a consumer product that required batteries to operate above their continuous rating, no would I do anything kludgy like "pulse firing" in order to be able to make a dubious "200W" claim.

Also, if you operated a 2s LiPo of similar capacity at continuous discharge, you wouldn't want to hold it in your hand either.
Sure, but you can get LiPos with much higher continuous ratings. And of course, Evolv doesn't use a 2S LiPo.

How is Asmodus relevant here? Are they claiming to have designed the Snow Wolf 200? Are you sure it wasn't Shenzhen Laisimo Technology Co., Ltd?

Yes they claim to have designed it, upon further research, they did NOT. waideacig claims they did, as well as several shell companies in china. On Asmodus websites, they claim they have designed it, or at least they did about a week ago

Waidea is a well known purveyor of fake clones. For example, they make a 1:1 clone of the Vaporflask that even claims on it that it was "Made in U.S.A.". ;)

According to mod crate on reddit they have them in stock and the chip will start shipping out to customers at midnight tomorrow.

Is it customary for actual chips to start hitting the market before an exclusive device is presented for the masses as a proof of concept? Or are we going to rely on DIY'ers to get ourselves killed >_>

This is going to be VERY interesting in the coming weeks.

Curious. Do you an image of the build or other information? I can't get to anything buildable with steam engine with 22 gauge nickel unless it has carrier strand of some sort.
I recommend much thinner gauge twisted, I like 34 AWG 2 strand twisted myself 6-7 wraps dual 3 mm coils.

That's what I thought but blaky on AAE-C just pointed out
Cloud 9 do this, they don't post on saturday and the last post is done today so they won't be posting them out till mondays post.
That's how they get around release dates and secure sales
