Thats the Odeon rda. I rarely use it due to extremely short 510 and ridiculously long chuff but its the best its ever been on top of this device. At 120w and .13ohm its been producing nicely.
Havent been able to figure out escribe too well though it says 3 cell for wh and capacity is 14.43 watt-hour... dont see where it says 1300mah anywhere....

I did the same with my pila but they were already fully charged. not good either. nitecore is like the worst charger, no wonder it did that. if you ever plan on using a charger you should get a different one. you probably know this already though. you can get an xtar, pretty good not too expensive. I actually like it better than the pila too.

it appears the wismec has no warranty! I hope that is not right. if so that may be a deterrent to some. especially at the price. if that is right that really does kind of stink. knock on wood it does not break. anytime you mess with flashing basically any time you use escribe there is some risk of bricking it. just the nature of flashing eproms. usually no problem but could happen. I imagine in that case though evolve has us covered. perhaps not though if they are at odds with wismec as I might think. there are things about this like china and non li-po that may upset them. have no idea and really hope I do not have to find out. putting the batteries in it I imagine would be difficult for an able person. with one hand of limited use it was pretty hard for me. hence plan to use usb. I like this thing a lot so far but unfortunately I think we are on our own with it. please correct me if I am wrong. honestly I have not been this excited about a mod since like the original evic. at the time I thought that was just amazing lol. do like that cloud thing that is modular and upgradeable but I was just so excited when I saw this sitting in the store. last one too no doubt. he sold all six in five minutes. I think they are sold out most everywhere right now. oh, I saw jay-bo he is actually a fictional character of the minds of tobh I gather! kind of like joe Isuzu lol. if anyone remembers that. I guess I am being a fanboy already. that's okay with me! this hobby gets more interesting every day.

I do commend those of you that built your own. wish I could do that. once upon a time not only was I fully functional I knew something about electronics too. built ham radios back in the day. anyone remember heath kit? I think some of you here are at least like 60. I know this is all ot but somehow the wismec brought back memories for me of the glory days of electronics. well, certainly the diy dna200. wismec is very nice but evolve rocks!
I read a post that quoted Brandon from Evolv saying that he had received one of the production Wismec ReuLeaux and that it met their (Evolv's) requirements. I'll try to find that post.

ETA: I found the post - it was over on the DNA 200 Forum. Here is a link to a quote from Brandon about the Wismec. Apologies if this has been posted before - I couldn't find it using the ECF search engine.

that is great freedom2vape. in retrospect I was thinking it would not look too good on their part to be prejudice against another country if the quality was right. it certainly is. the quality is very nice. I mean I have no idea what is inside of it but hana covers everything with hot glue. actually I do not even know how hana meets the quality. I like them but every one I ever had quit and so did many other peoples. on the other hand I think the effusion is very nice too. I feel these really should be under $200usd unless something is special. effusion even gives us real carbon fiber. even though it is glued on. odd with replaceable battery though. I do wish a high end modder like top hat would make one. a wood one would be very nice and I would gladly pay for it. not stupid ebay price but the regular $400usd. I think the chip is so great it deserves to have a real show case product. I just kind of dread when a new chip comes out and this starts all over :)

this thing charges as fast as a 900mah lipo too! how does it do that? I would guess it is charging at 2 amps but I thought the dna200 board only allowed 1 amp and it would blow the fuse. of course it lasted much longer than a 900mah lipo on hg2's. people said it is actually the mah of one battery but I see otherwise. lasted way longer than an single hg2 in the vs dna40. I wonder if anyone knows for sure it is parallel or serial.

Anyone know why I'd get temp protection warning/cutoff when using kanthal? Happens randomly...

The only thing that should cause that is by getting the board temperature to high. (the inside of your Mod) Not the temperature of the coil. If the coil temp goes to TP it should flash some like "temp protect" (whatever) and back the power down to hold at or below TP it should never shut the unit off like the internal overtemp will.

Hhhmmm, well it happens when the board hasn't even been fired for an hr or so, so I don't think the board temp would be high.. I have to unscrew atty and get it to recognize as new coil to go back to normal vaping.. it flashes temp protect and cuts off like it would in temp mode..

"Temperature Protected" is the message it displays when the coil has reached TP but it doesn't shut down.
"Too Hot" is the message it displays when the board is too hot and it does shut down.

You are not running Kanthal in TP mode are you?

I think maybe I have a whacked board, I went back to kanthal because I can't rely on titanium coils when leaving the house..perfect for a day or two and then the resistance would change and I'd have to reset everything. One vape session would be at 350 and maybe next one I'd have to change temp to 550 to get a good vape, and then later that would be hot and I'd go back, so I just went back to kanthal and now I'm getting this randomly..ps all build are working fine on all other DNA devices I have..

Doesn't it auto switch if I'm not using temp wire? These messages appear when I haven't vaped in awhile, I'm getting "temp protection" While using kanthal wire. Thanks for your help!

rockstarr,

You should post this problem on the Evolv Early Adopters forum. That way you will have access to folks like me that think they know PLUS the engineers and programmers that built the device.

That happens to me when I am using temp wire and the Atty is cold it sometimes thinks it is resistance wire. The last time mine did that I fired it a couple of times trying to get it to switch into TP mode and the device died on me. That device is currently waiting for Evolv to pick it up at their PO Box for repair. Ugh!

PS - Yes it is supposed to auto switch but it seems there may be a little bug in that area of the code or machine itself. :2c:

That's what I'm afraid of, I'll be back to charging and carrying extra batts after I was just getting use to having no spares with me. I'm pretty sure my boards bad because the attys work fine on DNA40. I'll post over there and see what they say. Thanks Holman

Hey rockstarr, they are a pretty friendly bunch over there. James is the programmer, Steve is the support guy and John is the hardware engineer. I only mention that so you know who the really important guys are. Oh - and of course Brandon the owner he sometimes comes on-line also.

Thanks! I follow over there I've just never created an account. Maybe it is just a bug although it does seem wacky compared to my 40's

Your welcome even if I didn't have much in the way of answers. I am sure they will fix you up even if you have to send it in for repair they are very quick.

Can't he just go into escribe and create a Kanthal profile shutting down temperature control altogether just to get by until he sends it back.
That's what I've done on my DNA200 mods, for using Kanthal or any wire that's not for use in TC. Just set up a profile and in it disable TC.

Cheers,
Steve

it charges at one amp there's a video on youtube showing that. as for series or parallel, the batts are ran in series.

edit...sorry thought this was the rx200 threed. but the relo dna200 does charge around an amp and is ran in series. run of the mill board in it.
