dna 30

so i was given a dna 30 by unnamed person to possibly fix and if i can i can keep it this unnamed person put the battery in backwards in the dna 30 so im just wondering is there a way to fix this or do tear it apart and keep the parts for later use?

Not that I know of. That chip is dead.

Im not sure if evolv sells direct to consumer but Ive heard those chips are only $50 if you wanted to try to replace it.

Sounds like you'll have to replace the board.

But I want to know who the unnamed person is now.

Hell yes! Replace the chip and you got a 30w box mod. The DNA30 chip has been cloned btw. Not sure about reliability, but they're out there.

It is a board, not a chip. The board has chips, and other components on it.

A bunch of the stuff on the board is probably OK but the skill to replace the stuff is quite high. Then there are probably components on the board that may be hard to impossible to find.

A little lower on the skill level would be to buy a new board from Evolve, unsolder the ruined one, and solder the new one in. It would be like building a mod yourself except someone else got all the parts and cut the wire to length.

Unsoldering and soldering the board back in might be a problem in a tight space. It might be easier in total to take more of it apart to make an easier job of the soldering.
