NICE Breaktru......the Power Locked feature is a great addition to the DNA30D.....
Yes it is.
Holding down both the up and down buttons for two seconds will place the device in Power Locked mode

A quick rant... I emailed them yesterday and said I was on the verge of buying the DNA 20 for a build that I want to do, but didn't want to buy it and then have the 30d released days later. I asked them just to advise whether or not I should buy the 20 in the next 4 weeks. Of course, I got an email this morning, which said "don't buy it in the next 4 weeks" and I look on the website and its on there and they're sold out. Seriously?

No balancing required and there should be no issue with 2 brand new batteries bought at the same time.
My advise in connecting parallel batteries is to use the same type and age. Buy them new and make sure the voltage difference is no more than 0.2v. Preferably less.
Fuse EACH battery. A fuse in each battery will protect against a battery failure where a malfunctioning battery would cause the good battery to go into amperage runaway
