hum....not a lot of revisions needed inside the box.....

take out the battery terminals...remove on/off switch...cut out battery terminal holder slots, cut out post....sand the raised ridge smooth....

you end up with the inside being flat (minus plastic post, and battery terminal holders....

see pictures of insides here (click on the different pics):

I don't use a drip cup as my tanks do not leak...use a sealed atty connector....all my mods have no juice ever leaked inside....

I was looking at those pics earlier...I had to do the same sort of thing when I built a Nicostick in an AA box waaaaaay back when. Cut out the ridges with an exacto knife. I thought I recalled mamu saying something about having to dremel out a bit around where the screen attached, but maybe it was for a different mod...I'm having trouble keeping them all straight in my head, now!

My biggest worry is messing up the screen when putting it in/epoxying it in place.

There's a bugaboo with that top hole in these 9v batt boxes. I don't have a leaky RBA, so no worries for me, but if someone does have a leaky atty, or there is ever a juice leak or a juice overflow... juice will get inside the case through that top hole - big time - on the batt as well as the board and may cause failure.

As a precaution, that top hole needs to be covered either with electrical tape (is black and matches the black case), or with silicone rubber.

This is the top hole I'm referring to... where the back cover tabs into the top...

Electrical tape over that top hole works well, but if you want a good seal - Walmart carries this: Permatex Ultra Black Hi-Temp RTV Silicone Gasket Maker. Just apply a dab in that top hole when done modding and when it dries it will give that top hole a good seal.

Hi mamu!!!

Wouldn't sealing off that area make it where you couldn't open the case to fix anything, though?

You should be able to dig out the silicone if you need to service it. I wouldn't recommend gluing or you would be stuck not being able to open it to service anything.

Do you know anywhere else that you can get similar tactile buttons like the silver ones that you use in your mod other than MadVapes? I can't even find a listing for them on the site. I don't necessarily want the same ones, but the ring around the button is a nice touch and I really like how they look.
