Do all of these people really make their own coils?

I build my own coils and DIY eliquid

coil build for protank heads - 6 minutes
coil build for kayfun lite+ - 4 minutes
coil build for AGA-T2 - 5 months, 20 ft of kanthal and still not right - keep it around as a reality check on my poor judgment in purchasing
DIY 200ml (a months worth) of my daily vape - 30 minutes

monthly cost is about $8.50

cheap? Why yes, yes I am

In the end all that matters is getting your needs met, whatever those are. You will see Vape Rocken Rollas toting an MVP2 with iClears because it is portable, tasty and works. These same folks have access to some of the best vape gear out there, but this is really about my health and a life style change. Taste is subjective what works for some may not work for me, even though I do get caught up in vapepeen.

Ya my hubby rolls his eyes when I whip out the new RBA, but he got me tools for Christmas to build better. And well I roll my eyes when he goes on and on about his Roush, at the end of the day we all got different things that make us tick.

I've been vaping for just over a year and I think I'm at the point where I want to move to rebuilding my attys. Like most people who do I like to work on different thing. I've only used clearos and carto tanks with eGo type batts. Is there a good rba or rda I should try with my current batts or should I jump in and get a mod? The more I read this forum, the more I want to try.

Chances are you are using the ego/510 interface that most mods and rba's would be using anyway; so you can get the rba now and get the mod later no problem.

I rebuild. Even my BCCs. I like the vapor from a bottom microcoil, and can't swing a Kayfun Lite+ just yet, so for now, microcoiled Kanger heads in a Davide is my go-to tank set up. Microciols are really durable, and only need a cleaning rewicking once in a while. So, one day, while having a casual evening with friends, I rebuilt a half dozen Kanger heads with 1.1ohm microcoils. This stock should last me forever, really. When they taste burnt, just pop out the wick and toss it in a water bottle of rubbing alcohol. When I get to my second to last one, I just clean, dry burn and rewick the lot and move on. This takes maybe 15-20 minutes for the whole project and only needs doing every month or two depending on the juice I use.

Of course, I wind up giving rebuilt heads to anyone using a ProTank style set up, and inform them on how to maintain it, so I have to replace them from time to time ;)

It is just a matter of giving it a shot. My first vivi nova coil took me an hour. I was in front of my computer with Phil Busardo's video. I had planned carefully and had all the siica and wire but was scared to death as I really didn't think I could do it. Lo and behold once you get started it's really simple, just takes practice and a bit of research. Now I do 10 in about 30 minutes. You tube is one of the best aides I have found.

i started on vivi novas too. Quite a few took flying lessons across my living room! Now my wife and i use only RBAs - but she is easy to please, so coils for her gear take no time at all. If i am trying for a photogenic coil using exotic wick and wire then that's a different matter.

Both will work just fine, i just like to play a bit more these days.
