Do any of you clean or 'prep' your new cartos?

There is only one carto that I run vodka through to remove a strange taste prior to filling and that is vapingzone's dual coil cartomizers. The really pretty ones they have on their site. Don't ask me why, but I can taste a strange taste in them. I even sent some to a friend, cleaned and uncleaned, and she could tell a difference also.

As for the rest, filler up and vape.

Whatever you do, DON'T dry burn a carto. I know another poster goofed when he/she stated this but I believe the person meant atomizers.

The only cartomizer that can be dry burned is and echo-e but you have to remove the filler first.

Thank you all! That's what I mean about ECF rocks!

Martinc- Thanks for the advice about atty's. Come to think of it, the 'howto' I read was probably talking about atty's.

Thanks WB, I will never dry burn a filler carto.

Mynameisrob- That's primarily what I'm using. Resurrectors. Great tip about the multimeter. I've already filled a couple of DOA cartos.

Wyattderp, unfortunately I think I've encountered the burning hair wrapped turd. But it wasn't from a dry burn, eventually a couple carto's started tasting funny. Didn't take long for funny to turn oh so serious. My biggest issue so far I think is keeping the cartos too wet. I've been so worried about vaping too dry that I'm constantly having to clean the top of my battery off, As soon as I hear the gurgle.

Oh, currently I use 900 mah eGo-T's with cartos. I've got an e-power on the way, but the ipro really has my interest, though.

Yes a multimeter is a necessity for testing batts, attys, cartos, etc. Sometimes the cartos are not DOA but need the batt end "pulled up" a bit because there's no contact with the batt- batt end of carto is recessed too much.. Mutimeter takes the guesswork out but of the equation and be absolutely sure it's a digital Multimeter.
Happy Vaping, Vapoor.

Thanks vapoor, yeah make sure it's a digital multimeter. I should have made that more clear.
You can get the digital multimeter that madvapes sells on eBay for $3-4 bucks with free shipping.
Type in DT-830B digital multimeter in the search, then scroll thru and find the cheapest one.
You can get one for about $3.50 without a 9V battery included or one for about $4.50 with a 9V battery included.
If you have a 9V battery already then get the cheaper one it since I didn't have any I chose to pay the extra dollar and get one included bc that was cheaper than going out and buying a pack.
The sellers are in china so it does take alittle longer than normal to get it, but it's not bad and I got mine in under 2 weeks. Madvapes sell it for about $10, so I didn't mind waiting to get it for alot cheaper. With it you can check your batteries and also the ohms of your attys/cartos. It's obviously not the best multimeter, but it serves it's purpose well
