The best flat tops for vaping are generally considered not consumer products so they are packaged in bulk. I make sure to have a silicone sleeve for every battery so it's either in a mod, a charger or the sleeve. These batteries should never be floating around loose with unprotected terminals. A couple months ago I received two LG HG2's from fasttech. They came in a plastic case I'm sure was provided by FT, not LG packaging.

Haven't seen any 3 battery cases, but they often ship properly boxed and many include a plastic case if ordered in pairs.
If you are purchasing an RX200, you will want an external charger and maybe pick up 6 batteries for rotation.

Right, so they won't be wrapped in plastic? I will indeed be getting the RX200 and want to just go to a local B&M (or 2) to get everything I need today without the wait! I just want to ensure that they are indeed brand new so they won't be wrapped in plastic or sealed in any way?

While we're on this topic do you have a recommendation for batteries? I'm reading LG HG2 but is there an advantage to getting something else or getting the HG4s? And I am reading I should be getting a nitecore d4 is it necessary to get a separate charger for each married set of batteries?

So you mean to say that I should expect them to come packaged in 2/4/6?

I had to pay some dues, do some studying to understand the battery questions. The mod manufacturers would prefer you use the highest amp battery obtainable for the greatest safety margin but then you get less endurance. I use the LG HG2's (3,000 mah) because they give noticably better endurance but max out at 20 amp rating. Other batteries with a higher rating like 25 amps have less capacity, say 2500 mah. I did the math to decide my battery choice. You should learn to use the steam engine calculator and understand the values or get a mod with built in batteries. I never go above 30 max watts. So the draw on the battery is around 7 amps, a margin far enough below the HG2 20 amp rating that I choose to be comfortable with. If you are going to fire at much higher watts you might want to be looking for a higher amp rating.

Some vapers want the bragging rights to the lowest resistance and the highest watts "possible". That is how you get on the 6 oclock news and interviewed in a hospital bed. I'm a wimp. I look for the lowest watts and highest ohm coil that will keep me off cigs and far from doctors and hospitals.

B&M will likely be Case lot - so you will purchase individually. Buy a couple of Plastic cases(couple bucks) to store extras.
LG HG2 is an Excellent Battery Choice. Running 3 should keep things relatively safe.

Take your time, read up on Battery safety, Coil safety, etc.

Good Luck with your new Mod!

Yeah I am not looking to max it out by any means... Just want a mod that has a lot of headroom and looks a little bit more substantial than my current mod..

I've been getting my Batteries from Liion Wholesale, they sample test every batch they receive to insure authenticity, I recommend them.

Also avoid anything from eFest, what they do is criminal and malicious. Their batteries are are re-wrapped from other sources with highly exaggerated ratings. Example is Mooch tested a batch they rated at 40 amps where in fact they were 10 amp batteries, this is malicious.

I recommend "authentic" Samsung, Sony or LG. You can authentic's for a good price, no need to support the criminals at eFest or any other off shoot company.

No, you only need one charger. I have the Nitecore Intellicharger i4. It has performed well for me. When it comes time to replace I'm looking at the Xtar VP4 as it monitors/displays voltage as it charges.

Here are several reputable battery suppliers in the US. I know Illum gives a battery case with each pair, not sure of the other suppliers.
RTD Vapor
Illumination Supply
Orbtronics
IMR Batteries
Liion Wholesale

Orbtronic does the same.

This is how a pair of batteries will come if you order from Orbtronic:

Buy them from RTD.

Unless the vendor does something funky, most reputable vendors ship batteries as they got them or for safety put in a battery storage case 2bay. Most batteries from the manufacturer come in a package of 2 batteries, LG each cell is wrapped in a thin, open cellophane sleeve inside the 2 battery box, Sony and Samsung each cell is in its own box inside the 2 battery box, these packaging methods keep the batteries sepperated from each other to prevent contact and accidental shorting. They are also by law shipped with a half charge (generally 3.4 to 3.6v), you get a fully charged battery 4.0 to 4.2v charge the vendor charged them, be careful of this and ask for uncharged batteries if available, I've heard many a story of shop employees selling their old batteries to customers and take the new one off the shelf for themselves. Just precautions to be aware of, be smart and buy your batteries from ILLumn.com, Liionwholesale.com, IMRBatteries.com, Orbtronic.com, or RTDVapor.com if you live in the US, Liionwholesale especially will ship batteries in a free 2bay case for every 2 batteries you buy.
