Ive been using my evod 1600 v.v. for about a month and a half and lately it seems like its not putting out as many volts as it once did,its feels like its taking longer to get my juice warm, not holding a charge as long usually about 6-7 hours of vape time. I never let it run all the way down befor putting it on the charger because i read on here its best not to. I even make sure to click 5 times to make sure its turned off in between vapes. Anyway of testing it or can it be the coils going bad ( maybe a bad batch )
. how long should a 1600 mah battery last before having to charge it again

Unfortunately that depends on far too many factors to give an answer. Batteries do develop an internal resistance over time which lowers their overall capacity and output potential. For eGo batteries they must be trickle charged using a 0.5A discharge wall adapter. Using a rapid charger damages the battery cell by greatly increasing the rate at which the battery builds up its internal resistance. eGo batteries also have a cut off switch that will prevent the battery from dropping below the 3.2v (or whatever it is) threshold to prevent damaging the battery from over-draining. But yes, charging often is beneficial for lithium batteries.

it's been a while since I used an eGo but I remember screwing them into a USB type charger which does not regulate the current. The current is instead regulated by whatever the USB charger is plugged into. These days cell phones utilize wall adapter that output anywhere from 0.5A to 3A so a dedicated charger might be necessary for vape batteries.

Otherwise you can measure your battery's actual output with a multimeter/volt meter.

False. USB is a regulated voltage and cannot be relied upon to regulate or limit current. The chargers also turn off charging when complete (green LED). They can be finicky, if you suspect the charge went short try plugging it in again. This could be happening with the OP, or it could be the connection, electronic controller failure, atomizer issues, changing expectations. I have one small, cheap battery that gets hot at one spot right on the side, I think the ground wire isn't making good contact with the case. The battery does have more than one cell (3?) so if none of these things, one cell probably is going bad, I've seen one cell swell up visibly on cheap laser pointers.

I don't have any evidence, but tend to think mixing it up on charge styles is a good idea, and don't always charge it after using it only a little. I even charge mine incompletely sometimes due to time, doesn't seem to have hurt them.

Just a thought to throw in. I had one new battery that just did not last as it should. Come to find out the charger was registering a full charge (green) before the battery was fully charged. Found out by changing the supposed full battery to a different charger (same exact one, kind) and the light went to red and it charged for another two hours. Charger was brand new at the time. Made a big difference in vapor and taste too.

If it's only a month old you should still be getting good vapes. There's always the possibility that your center contact is a little dirty or not making good contact. Is your charger led turning green after a while? That was asked uptopic. Evod coil heads rarely last more than a few days if you like good vapor with decent flavor. You said you changed it, so that leaves charging and contacts.

If there's a vapor store nearby, they will probably let you try a new mod with your atomizer to see what happens. They also might have a 510 thread voltmeter to see what your battery is producing. Sometimes the easiest way to troubleshoot is to swap out parts until it works. There's the possibility that your coil head isn't screwed down tight or the threads aren't clean.

I have a couple of eGo 650mah batteries that I haven't used in two years. They were charged long ago and sitting in a box in the closet. A couple of months ago I screwed on an atomizer just to see what happened. I got vapor. Go figure!

Remember, it is the Cycle life(charges to discharges) that are of most concern. Batteries stored with a storage charge and properly maintained can last for years.
Many New batteries have a 10yr+ Shelf Life - (Shelf, Not usage)

Yeah, lithiums will simply lose capacity with time and heat is their enemy. Charge cycles, how they were discharged and charged also play into how much capacity is lost.

That said, I think part of the OP's problem might be that the contacts might need some cleaning. With low voltages, dirty contacts can have huge effects.
