Do batteries need rest?

I posted this issue in a different thread, but I started a new one because I am wondering if the problem I have been having is actually battery-related.

It seems that when I vape more continuously during the evening (with great vapor and throat hit), I find by the end of the night that I am not getting much of anything. I used my RN4081 all night Saturday and it was fine. At least until late, when suddenly, no matter how charged the batteries were, I could not get much vapor at all, anymore. No throat hit. No nicotine (or so it seemed).

I went to bed.

Then, the next day, it was the same thing. By 4:00, I ended up with a pack of analogs.

By today, it was fine again (although one of my three attys was dead and one might be dying, the third is fine.)

Could it be that the continual use put a strain on the batteries and they needed to sit for about 24 hours or more in order to work properly again? Since I did have one good atty, that's all I can think of at this point.

Ideas?

The problem probably is the age of your batteries. Not sure how old your equipment is, but e-cig batteries become wimpy after a month or two of service. I would recommend you buy new batteries, and or look into a modding yourself a battery box mod. I was having problems with my worn out batteries, just completed my battery box mod last night, and talk about major consistent hit!

I might offer the idea that it's your body as opposed to the equipment. It could be that you vape so much that your throat and mouth become a little numb?

I actually thought of that, although I don't feel numb and when I smoke an analog, I feel that. Good theory, though.

I have been using these batteries since November and December. And while I think my problem is partly battery-related, I don't think the batteries are bad or weaker, I just think I am overheating them or something. I know that car batteries actually lose more performance on hot days than cold ones, so maybe something similar is happening when I vape. Maybe I pull too long too often and the batteries heat up too much.

I actually suspect, after reading the replies here, that my problem is not just one thing but a combination. Batteries+atomizers+body desensitivity all combined.

Of the two models I use, the L88b has rebounded and has been working well the last two days. The RN4081 is still not doing its job, but I ordered new attys so, when they arrive, I'll give it another try.

I wish I had the budget for a Juice Box Mod (Customer Login). That looks like it has everything I could want in a PV: great battery life, holds LOTS of juice, and produces a real consistent vape/hit (according to the claims.)

Maybe someday.

While I'd like something like the juicebox myself, like you I have no budget for one.

But, the total cost for a nicostick was about $2 for a AA battery holder, $2 for the pushbutton switch, $3 for a battery connector, and $20 for 2x14400 protected batteries and charger.

So for less than $30 and some time fabricating and soldering, I have what is for me the most essential quality of the juicebox (battery life) but no pump/drip mechanism. The much longer battery life of the 14400 batteries gives a payback over 510 batteries of about 6 months. Past that 6 month period, my nicostick actually saves me money over factory batteries.

just wondering, but where did you order new atties from, because i just got some new rn4081's from totally wicked and they are a slightly different design from the SE or Njoy's and work waaaaaaaaaayyyyy better. i think it might be because they only have one hole and a wider bridge.

I get mine from Aquavaporcig.com. I like the customer service and fast shipping. They claimed recently that they are including a "new" RN4081 atomizer with their starter kits, but I just bought 4 and they look the same as the old ones, so I guess they're not shipping the new design as replacement attys. I'll have to check out Totally Wicked for pics and see if I can tell the difference.

Anyway, the new attys did the trick and now my RN4081 is back up and running well. So I guess the batteries were NOT the issue after all, but it seems weird to me that I would lose ALL of my atomizers over the course of one weekend.

Now I am wondering if it's the juice that's causing the problem. I mostly use Johnson Creek, which I understand was killing attys a lot a while back. But they altered their formula and everyone seems to think that the problem is over. I wonder if I got a bottle of the old formula.

Who knows? The bottom line is that as great as they are, e-cigs still have some reliability issues that, I hope, will someday be worked out. I really need consistency in my vaping experience if I ever really hope to kick analogs once and for all.

Maybe I'll try a 510. Or maybe I'll try to build a Nicostick - Any guides or directions I can look up?
