Do dual microcoils (Aqua RBA) work with iTaste SVD mod?

Hi everyone! My first post here... Love this community! Wealth of information from friendly peeps!

I need some advice on one of my set-ups:
- using SVD mod with 18650 Panasonic battery
- currently vaping at 4.2v using a Kanger ProTank 3 with a bullet tip
- just bought the Aqua clone rba
- made my first coil(s) using .28 ga Kanthal (7 wraps using a 5/64 drill bit) and boiled organic cotton
- both coils mounted read, I think, 0.82 ohms
- won't fire up on the SVD (I believe the SVD is limited to a min. of 1.2 Ohms?)
- the Aqua fires awesomely on my Nemeis clone - incredible clouds!
- I need this Aqua to work on the SVD as I have an Omega RBA ordered for my Nemesis clone

So simply, is it possible to get this dual coil Aqua RBA to operate/function properly on my SVD (I ordered .32 ga Kanthal hoping this will help raise the resistance to the 1.2 Ohm minimum)?

Hello and welcome to ECF!

You answered your own question. You just need to get your ohms up and the SVD will fire it. More wraps will give you a higher resistance as well as smaller wire.

for a dual coil set up to run on a svd you would need to meter each coil out to above 2.4ohm's. two coils running at the same time will cut the resistance in half so you would want the ohms to be exactly the same to get a more accurate reading.

you have been reading yes, increase the total ohms to 1.3 or so ( since the resistance does waver a tad +/- .2 or so ohms) so... 2 @ 2.6 ohms will work on the SVD ( altho thats getting into the lower limits of the design)

I'm running dual coils on a genesis with my SVD at .9 ohms and it's smoking like a smoke stack. I've also fired .8 ohms on it with no issues.

Actually the svd will fire subohm as long as you don't exceed it's 5amp limit , that's why you're able to fire it .

i use a modified single coil using 26 guage on my aqua svd combo
i ran 5 wrap 2 mm then ran leg between posts wrapped 5 on oterside and then connected leg ends to posts

hits like a freight train that way just make sure the leg running between posts dont ground out
and im also using cotton by the way

I'm not sure why but my SVD will fire .7 ohm coils my VTR will fire .8 I know it shouldn't but they do. I have a .8 build on the SVD rite now been using it for about a month and its holding up at that ohms.
