halo tries to steep juice for a few weeks before they sell it, sometimes they can't when it's a really busy period.
some people steep it anyway, cap off for a few hours, then cap on and shake then store it in a cool dark closet
for a week or two, or longer.
It's totally a personal preference thing, it if tastes fine to you when you received the bottle, there is no need to steep,
if it's perfumey, then steep it.

I have extensive experience with Tribecca. I'll only speak to that, not any other juices.
I don't think it needs any aging (steeping is an incorrect term, don't take it personally blame the vaping community). I've had 30 ml bottles for weeks, a month or two, and cracked bottles fresh out of the mail. I've vaped them in all types of devices, clearomizers, cartomizers, drippers, etc.

It all tastes the same to me. Delicious.

Of course different devices and delivery systems alter the flavor slightly, but I think it's all about the same.

That being said I just got a bottle of Midnight Apple that is horrible. Tastes like potpourri. It's awful. I'll let it go for a few weeks and see what happens.

thanks, that is what I was thinking, but every other company that I have ordered form recommended steeping, so I just wanted to be sure that I was getting the best vape possible.

@ Rwb1500 - Tribeca is my fav Halo flavor as well, southern classic is great as well as tiki juice. BTW, Midnight apple, some people love it, but for me, I am with you. I heard a lot of good things about it, so I ordered a 7ml bottle of it to try it out, good thing I did. Tasted better in a clearomizer for sure, but still the taste was not that great for me, potpourri taste for me too. Also, about the "steeping" term.....lolz, both virgin vapors and mount baker customer service reps, as well as many others here have called it that, although I think that that really only refers to juices with ethyl alcohol in them, to allow for the alcohol to evaporate, aging sounds like a better term for other juices without alcohol lol!

You're correct in that technically the term "steeping" refers to allowing a solid to impart it's flavors/chemicals into a liquid (like a tea bag in hot water). As far as Halo's awesome juices...as the others above me have stated, they do age their juices as much as possible but belong the #1 juice supplier in all of the USA, that can prove to be a tall order. To me personally, most of their juices do taste fantastic out of the mailbox but some definitely improve and even change from ehh to wow with a couple of weeks of "steeping". Just about ANY juice that tastes too perfumy or strongly of alcohol needs some time with the cap off, then shaken regularly and stored in a dark cool place. An occasional vigorous shaking and burping the bottle to replace the air in it with fresh air DOES help those "potpourri" types.
If I recall, Halo does (or did) include a card with juice orders stating that "the flavor will change dramatically 24-48 hours after the bottles have been opened".

I feel a "Yo, you, cummere" moment.

I agree with Rwb1500 and Camaro. Open them, exchange the air. And vape away! If it's too much, try it again later.

Every Halo juice I ever vaped did not change after the first 2 days. That card is right. I'll open the bottle, burp out the air, or gently blow into the glass bottle to exchange the air. I'll do that once or twice, depending on the juice. But not with Torque, Prime, TriBeCa. I do with Malibu, Tiki, VooDoo.

I have 3 or 4 bottles still sealed. I'll open them when I need them.

I have 2 bottles that are 4 or 5 months "old". They taste the same. Sort of.

What I think is happening is changes to everything else involved with vaping. Taste buds are constantly being regenerated and sometimes subjected to the harshness of vaping several strong flavors in a day. Coils change, wicks are different. It's our perception of a taste that changes, not the liquid.

I'll say this also. Halo liquids are very stable. I have other companies' juices, and some improved with age, but others degraded.

You do have to let Midnight Apple air out a bit, sometimes a couple of days, or else it has that perfumy smell/taste. Shake it real good, and let sit for a week....you'll see, it'll be wonderful....ymmv

I hope so. I really want to like it. I really like the concept. We'll see.

Be sure to regularly shake them hard enough to produce LOTS of little tiny air bubbles in the juice when then held up to the light (aerate). If your arm/wrist gets tired...cheat image.jpg

At 3000 strokes/min this little Frankenstein of a contraption will temporarily turn clear juices as white as milk with aerated bubbles...releasing MUCH of the alcohol and other vapor active volitale components of the flavorings! ;) A couple of burpings and bye-bye potpourri!!

Thanks, been looking for a ridiculous use for my dewalt sawzall.

I have had some bottles I liked out of the mailbox with just a 12 hr open cap airing.
I have also had some bottles...that needed almost a month of aging.
My basement is cool, so I have a spot in one of my cabinets I use to keep bottles.
First bottle of voodoo I got was great right away, 2nd bottle needed 3-4 weeks in the closet with daily shake and bakes.
Midnight apple needed 3-4 weeks for me also
Tribeca needs nothing, its great right away and never changed for me.

I allways leave the cap off overnight now, fill a mini tank, if its no Bueno, I leave it in the cabinet for a week and try again.

Like the others have mentioned, my Tribeca and Prime were ready to go out of the mailbox. Turkish Tobacco needed some time and seems a lot better today after sitting for a week. My Torque 56 is nothing like my friends had and I'm going to let it go a little longer as well. I know I'll like it, because I've tried it. By the way, these 4 bottles are the first juices I have bought from Halo. I am really impressed with the flavor and quality of the product. I will definitely be a repeat customer.

Ditto everything mentioned here and mostly it is personal preference with a few. Example, VOODOO to me tastes awesome FOOB. I don't get as much cinnamon, but I get a bit more of a cocoa taste, which I LOVE.

I just got yesterday a small bottle of Longhorn, which I've never had before. FOOB, I could smell a slight alcoholy smell so I knew it needed a steep. I squished the bottle a bit to get the air out, left it over night w/cap off and this morning, it has already calmed down a bit. I put the cap back on and will shake it a couple times each day and let it steep more with cap on for probably another 3-4 days before I give it a try.

So I use a mix of breathing/steeping method for juice that have a stronger, pungent smell to them FOOB.
