Hi,all. I know this may sound stupid but this is my first ever build.
I just got my first AGA-T2, Kanthal, SS mesh and I have a Vamo v5. I built my coil and everything. My question is, I have only one tank right now. So do I have to change the mesh or the coil whenever I change the e-liq flavor? Or do I have just to change the mesh wick? Or I don't need to do this and just clean the glass tank itself? Any kind of input would be appreciated. thanks?

You could go totally OCD and pull the mesh and set it on fire.

Depending on how different a flavor I'm switching to, the procedure differs somewhat. I'm usually fine with vaping a few puffs of mixed flavor, tho.

With the Aga T2 you have to disassemble your build to get to the glass tank, so I usually rinse mine with the wick in place just by filling it halfway up with clean liquids, shaking it and sucking it back out. A syringe really comes in handy for this. By "clean liquid" I mean I used to use tap water, but I found that it left a slight "wet dog" flavor for a little while. So, I started using pure PG instead.

I also vape off some PG to help clean the wick. Not inhaling, tho... just firing the coil with the top cap off. I also do this after a dry burn to avoid the initial burnt/ashy flavor.

I'm sure there are as many ways of doing this as there are gennie users. It may also vary from gennie to gennie. On the Kraken you can remove the glass without disturbing the deck. On the Svarog you can remove the deck without disturbing the wick. I still use the easy way of just rinsing with PG, tho.

It may depend on what flavor of juice you are changing to. If the flavors are similar, remove the old juice with a syringe. Rinse the tank with some hot water, remove the water. Dribble some water on the coil, dry burn and check for hotspots. Add new juice.

If your new flavor is really different, may want to recoil and clean tank. Just hold wick carefully with forceps or needlenose pliers, so as not to burn yourself. Light the wick on fire to burn away the old juice. Recoil and use the new juice. After a while, recoiling will not be such a chore, and can be done in minutes.

If you are using mesh, these wicks last a long time. The above doesn't apply to other kinds of wicks. I just got done cleaning my atty, my juice is a real coil-gunker :D

Sorry, I think Wattwick just said kinda the same thing :p

If you want to change juices, and want the absolute most pure flavor of the new juice, the best thing to do is remove the wick, dry burn the coil, wash the tank with water, torch the wick, and slide it back in and re-fill.

I pretty much only vape fruit flavors that all compliment each other pretty well, when I'm changing flavors in a genny I'll just vape the tank dry and then throw the new juice in there. You are going to get a bit of residual mixing from the previous juice, but it just comes down to whether it makes a big difference for you. If you were vaping a strong flavor, and switched to a more nuanced subtle flavor, it would probably be a good idea to do a full wash and burn, but really it just comes down to how much you care about preserving the individual flavor of the new juice.

I vape an AGA T3, so similar setup to yours. When I switch ejuices I take the tank off, take the SS wick out, unravel it, and wash it under some cold water. I wash the tank out with cold water too. I dry everything as best as I can. I do some dry burns on the coil to self clean gunk. Then I put the wick back in, do some dry burns and adjust it if it's shorting out. Once that's done I refill the tank and go.
Whole process takes about 15 mins.

Yep. I do it that way too, though I also change the wick at the same time, just leaving the coil in place.

This is one of the few things I dislike about the AGA T2, though I'm really enjoying this good old gadget since I finally figured out how to build it with cotton so that it actually works. (Sadly, I am rather slow.) It produces really rich, super creamy vapor this way, and I just love that.

:)

Mesh or cotton, though, I'm generally able to replace the wick and dry-burn the coil several times before having to disassemble and redo the whole thing. Saves lots of time if you don't mind messing about with syringes.
