hey guys at ecig forum, i experimented today with a 28gauge kanthal wire, hammering it FLAT, not bad for my first attempt, used a flat flat flat surface to hammer on,and i hammered away, it was pretty easy, i twisted 4 wraps it on a 3/32 (2.43mm) round steel rod, i am using it on a trident clone, its just what i build on and test different coil builds before putting it onto a patriot or igo, the ohms test came out to be .8 only on one coil, so i did a dual coil which put out 0.41 ohms, it was really easy putting the coil in place and adjusting it to the spot where i wanted in front of the air holes, the coils light up fast, the vape was really really warm, flavor is all there to, my juice is 80vg/20pg mango, using this setup made my vape even more a sweeter flavor, vapor clouds filled the room in an instant, i did this experiment because so i can get an idea of what kind of vape before purchasing real RIBBON WIRE lol, i will probably get 0.8 x 0.1 ribbon wire which is also equivalent to 28 gauge wire, DO NOT USE PLASTIC DRIP TIPS OR DELRIN,, !!! mite possibly melt, thanks guys for reading my experiment. VAPE ON

You might want to go with a higher gauge than you're used to. I use a regulated device, so I'm not really in to the whole sub ohm thing. I found it difficult to get my ohms above 1 with 29 gauge ribbon. I didn't really like any of the standard builds I got with the ribbon, so I'm trying a few twisted builds. I haven't actually ran any of them yet so I can't say how they perform, but they look pretty.

Well, I wanted to say "Very clever!", but it's just really hammering, isn't it? :)

That said, well done - I hadn't thought of it, and it will be interesting to try.

yeh u need A FLATTT surface to hammer on, and make sure your hammer is rounded off without any chips on the hammering side, and hammer away, took me less then 10 minutes to do a foot of wire,

Seems like allot of hard work for what took a day delivery 10 meters and only just cost more than a pack of straights.

it was actually easy, this is only an experiment before buying the real ribbon wire, i wanted to get an idea of how it would vape with using a ribbon wire,
