Do KR808 batteries just DIE, or slowly fizzle away?

I have had most of my batteries about 6 months. I have noticed lately they do not stay charged as long.

So I was wondering, when they go do they go instantly or just gradually stop working as well? BTW, is 6 months about the usual time to replace? I am happy they have lasted this long, considering how often I use them.

I am having the same problem but I read on an earlier thread that the batteries
are only expected to last a couple months. I guess it's time to order more.

How many batteries do you have? I believe they last for a certain amount of charge cycles, so the more batteries you have in rotation, the longer they will seem to last. I have 2 auto regulars from the starter kit (April 2010), 1 auto shorty ordered 5/5/10, and 1 manual regular ordered 6/1/10. I have also noticed that they don't stay charged as long as they used to.

The rotation thing is right. But I have to say that I still have the first batt that Steve gave me..a pink full logo extra long (It's 11 months old!)..I thought it was dying but I enlarged the holes a bit and it's doing just fine. The batts are good for 200 charges..so it's hard to say what that is in months.
I notice that that the draw gets harder on an old batt then it goes..I haven't had but a couple die.
I have elarged all the holes in my old batts so that they work better with the newer cartos. That seems to work well for me.
V4L are the longest lived batts I have ever tried!

KR808 batts will also die slowly (not last as long) if you get any juice inside them. The automatics have holes into the battery compartments. That eventually drowns or dries and cakes/gunks up the contacts/leads, and chips inside. I had one XL 280mAh battery last me 2 hours, if I was lucky. Reason: I was over filling my cartomizers. The excess juice dripped down from the cartomizer into the hole of the battery. The solution is to take a Q-tip lightly blotted in alcohol. Gently clean inside the hole with the Q-tip. THen I used a straight pin, dipped it in alcohol and gently stuck the pin in the hole. When it reached the bottom I lightly scraped, dipped back in alcohol, scraped, repeat. I then let the battery drip drain/dry for a day. Now it lasts about 5 hours.

If you're a cartomizer refiller, this may very well be why your battery doesn't last as long. That said, I have 4-5 other KR808 batteries that are over 3 months old and still work great.

All of this makes sense. I have been using 3 batteries, as well as a pass thru sometimes. I also refill-and my batteries are kind of gunky. I will try cleaning them more thoroughly and see if I can get more use from them.

Thanks for all the replies. And I agree-I haven't used any of my other ecigs since getting the KR808. Call me lazy, but the cartos and the long battery life are better than anything else I have ever tried.

I have several batteries. It seems the manuals keep a charge a little longer but none of them last over 2 hours. I make sure I take at least 5 to work. I don't think I should have to do that. Maybe I'm wrong.

just do NOT use a toothpick. You don't want to take a chance on it breaking inside the battery hole.
Also when you're done, blow out the excess alcohol by placing your mouth on the light end, blowing toward the battery connector. This should also light up automatic batteries (your mouth will glow, lol).

Don't put anything in the center hole. Ever.

The threads and the air holes require regular cleaning.

But yes, over time they will degrade electrochemically and you'll find they hold less charge for less period. A normal effect that you'll find on any battery device. Very apparent in cell phones and flashlights, for example.

So far I'm pretty sure every battery I've had die on me was from dropping it or hitting it with my game controller guitar & sticks in Band Hero. I know I'm doing it wrong.

None have lived long enough to die on their own.

However that said, I got the new purple XL single logo autos and all 3 have been beaten, dropped and even kicked and are still working perfectly.

I'm sending the cops over to charge you with battery :) I crack myself up, and to think I haven't even drank anything tonight!
