I'm starting to see it being a wise investment to have a backup unit on hand. I have the Provari v2 currently but was considering maybe picking up a Joytech eVic as a spare. I like the functionality and features I've read on it. What say others?

Any current owners of a eVic can comment on how well they like it?

Everyone needs something to fall back on to ensure you don't go back to analogs. Some choose to have a backup as expensive as their primary mod, while for others something cheap like an ego or lavatube is more than enough (or, even something cheaper!). I personally have about 15 mods between my wife and I, and while some of them are very cheap and don't work very well, it's nice to know I have all of these options to prevent me from falling back on smoking.

As a new vapor myself I definitely have back ups. I have 2 x 1000 and a 650 twist with 3 chargers and spare tanks for each just incase one dies and I dont go back to cigs. It varries for everyone specially how much you vape.

Just remember for most this about not smoking. And you need to be prepared to stay on track.

I dont have backups...I use them all,all the time.

I have anywhere from 2 to 5 devices going at any one time so I can just vape whatever it is I'm feeling at the moment. That said, I don't consider them backups. I have real backups, a mostly unused deluxe Victory eCig set up I got for $25.

yes, tons and tons of mods. You actually do need a backup for the provari (i have 3), especially if you like to sit it on the side of the tub while taking a bath: killed 2 of them that way, thankfully they cheap to fix 8)

I have parts for two more complete E-Power 14650s in my cupboard as backups. After sixteen month of vaping only I needed a back-up part once. One switch module got flooded with condensation because I wasn't cleaning the 510 connection often enough so I used a spare part for a while. The flooded unit dried out and I'm back to using it. Never regretted the extra expense of having backup gear.

If you are considering vaping it best to figure the cost of having backups for everything you use when you start: device electronics, batteries, chargers and atomizing devices. You don't want to be caught up the creek without a paddle if your vaping gear fails.
