I wish I knew lol, these companies ain't like car companies. You buy a Honda or toyota, and know you're getting a good quality car for the money. I use mostly unregulated devices. I do have an innokin itaste vv, and even though the battery needs to be charged after about an hour of vaping, it's lasted over a year, and never gave me any problems, not one.

The funny thing is, many who buy a car that turns out to be a lemon may never buy a car from that manufacturer again; yet eLeaf sells a dangerous lemon and I bet many who had issues with it will buy the next version. These companies know this...

I think the pbusardo video is what really drove me to buy it, he seems like one of the most reliable reviewers, imo and he was highly praising it.

Same here. Plus my old 20W is still plugging along, and I bought one of the very first ones. I gave it to a friend 3.5 months ago, but no problems. I hated the overpowered pwm and non adjustable 510, but with those fixed on the 50W, I figured I couldn't go wrong with the price. The 20Ws have their issues, but nothing like what we're seeing on the 50Ws.

Could I go back in time, knowing what I do now, I would have bought more Sigelei 50Ws instead.

Very true. I'm steering clear of any eleaf products. I also think ehpro makes garbage products as well, but that's a different topic for a different day.

If the Istick 50w is so bad what is a good 50w regulated device for the money? What would you recommend?

I feel Sigeleis are a good bang for the buck. The 50W seems as well made as my two 100Ws. My oldest Sigelei is a 100W v2 I got in September. So under a year old isn't proven longevity, but the wiring is heavy duty and its assembled well.

I wish I had bought more Sigeleis instead of the isticks, even though my isticks are functioning fine.

I'm sure they started off making decent quality, then like most companies, when they start getting a well known reputation, started mass producing items using the cheapest materials possible, to be the lowest price, and flip em' like hot cakes. It really sucks for the average consumer like you and me.

I will definitely be looking into sigelei, and innokin for my regulated devices. I Definitely need something reliable, that I can use everyday, that's going to last. I don't want to have to spend $50 - $100 a year on a regulated device. It just seems like a waste of $ to me.

Sigelei always seemed to have a good rep around here, so much so I jumped on the very first Mini when it came out. It had a minor issue where the 510 pin was too high and I ended up stripping the threads from having to push attys down, but like all their other devices, they make constant improvement on things along the way like with the Zmax line, and I bought a second one without even thinking thats turned out to be perfect. Its only 3 months old though but I have a feeling as long as I dont abuse it itll be here for awhile. It doesnt feel like a rock like my old MVP2 does, but Im pretty sure its good. Innokin now.. Everything Ive seen of theirs is tough as nails. LOVED my MVP2 but needed just like 4 more watts once I moved to rebuildables. Held out for the newer versions but that internal battery turned me off of em, otherwise Id be rocking an MVP 3 or the MVP Pro right now.

I am a bit of a innokin fan boy and will attest to their strength. I am notoriously rough on anything and that surely includes my vapes and the Innokin product have stood the test. I don't know your vaping needs but if you vape <20W then the mvp 20 is being deep discounted to <$25 dollars. If you need more electrons then look at the other MVP's. These boxes are notoriously strong and reliable. I just picked up the Cool Fire IV and am really liking the feel of this thing in my hand.

I take reviewer's thoughts with a grain of salt. They don't use anything long term a week or two at best and it's on to the next review. I look to the threads posted around the net by real world users before I decide now. It's a little more time consuming but you get a good cross section from the first adopters.

I believe the selling point was a 4400mah dual 18650, with usb and being so tiny for around $45-$70. But they obviously didn't give 2 craps about their quality control. Please update if you have any issues. Thanks

My selling point was the price in a group buy. I didn't go wrong for what I paid, it was the disapointment in the device. I paid $68.98 shipped for my IPV 4 and it's killer. Don't use nickle for tc yet but it runs my tobeco super tank at 75w with a .2 flawlessly. The wife's back up VS DNA 30 will be here today. $45 was hard to beat on that one too. What I've spent on cheap mods would have pauid for what I recently bought plus a little.

I have always had very good service from Rocky Mountain Vapor. They are replacing my 50w after 2 months when it started to auto-fire.
You might look at Cool Fire IV, Mvp 3, Or Evic-VT for replacement.

They have outstanding service. I'm wondering if they'd replace mine, but it's been a little over 3 months now.

Generally, I don't vape over 25 watts. So any 30 watt - 50w would be good. Built in Dual 18650's, and small in size would be perfect. I'm actually looking at the 60w mvp 3.0 pro right now. Looks like it's built like a tank, but I'm not sure how heavy it is or how it would feel in the hand, plus it's square. I really liked the light weight, and shape of the eleaf 50. I definitely need something reliable.

That's a great idea, I'm going to have to start doing that. It seems like there is a new vape item out every week, and all of these reviewers know how to keep us buying these products, and their freebies & subscribers just keep rolling in. I'll have to check out the ipv, I haven't read up on their stuff yet..

The only thing I look to busardo for are the electronic testing. He will show the mod's out put as far as regulation and buck boost capability other than that it's always a what ever for me. Heatvape dropped the invader and I thought if it works I'm in but after looking at the threads and it's little issues I passed thankfully. I know 2 people that own paperweights now. Been studying the joyetech tc mod thread and well.....it's a pass for now. Was wanting it for the wife when she's ready for tc. ATM there's something coming out regularly which is supposed to be the next big thing for a few weeks so I've stopped buying until the dust settles. Reminds me of the computer boom in the 90's for a while there was no keeping up.

I remember doing tons of research before buying my first regulated device. And I kept passing on them for months on end . As I continued to use my mechanical mod. But I really wanted to go regulated! Then I came across the the YIHI, SXmini in early November 2014 . I figured I would spend the premium price, and pulled the trigger. Plus it came with a ONE YEAR WARRANTY! I finally received it on December 29th, 2014.... well it's now June 16th, 2015 with the only APV I use every day, all day, late into the night...And I can attest, research, and patients pays. Plus I'm one of those people who read the manuals/ warranty cards, and follow the manufacturer suggestions. And you know, that really helps products longevity. ...

Hard to beat the mini either s or m class. My friend has both and they've been flawless. I turned both of my TC mods last weekend because the technology is still evolving quickly and I didn't want to be stuck with a dated mod that would be a hard sell in a few months. I ended up with a SIG 150w for $64 to my door. Don't need that much power but everyone at my atf B&M have been using them for a while with no issues and I couldn't pass on the price. I'll revisit TC again when advancements slow down and the bugs get worked out.

Probably a good idea!
