Short and nice. I was gonna pay forward by giving two protank-ii mini, to do that I need to clean them first. I mixed vinegar/coca and put the tanks in with a few driptips and let them sit over night.

The threads on the protank-ii mini (on the piece that says kangertech) have decomposed and I just could pull the threads out like pulling out a strand of hair.

The protanks' drip tips are fine but the drip tips I bought have changed color and are looking nasty.

strange i have used a 50/50 mix of vinegar and water to clean my protanks with no issue must be a reaction between the cola , vinegar and the metal or plating.
i am guessing these where authentic kanger items.

Again, why would one use vinegar for cleaning the tanks? Plain water works fine, alcohol aswell.

Acid + Acid = Bad News.

Phosphoric Acid, which is what's in Coke, is stronger than Vinegar and used to remove rust. Adding more acid on top of what's already inside of the Coke is going to essentially create a stronger acid that has the potential to damage metals (given that PA alone can remove rust). Since most [cheaper] tanks are plated, it's not surprising that this would happen - it sucks, but there's a reason people use Coke to clean off battery acid and other corroded material; it works.

Sorry to hear it happened though! I would definitely stick with PGA or even Vodka. Even a sterile steam bath would work (just don't use the microwave).

What do you mean with this statement?

Also i still want to know why some of you use vinegar to clean your devices?? It makes no sense to me what so ever :?:

Some flavors will not come out with just water alone. Some juices will gunk up coils heavily and the acid in the vinegar helps it to dissolve making it easier to dry burn without popping the coil.

Let the coils soak in alcohol & you've the same result. ;)
Using vinegar doesn't sound like a good idea, but that might be just me...

the reason why is because some of us are sensitive to the taste of metal and a 50/50 wash of vinegar and water will get rid of that.

Alright i see. Won't the vinegar leave residues / smell behind?
And i guess alcohol would also remove metal taste wouldnt it? and sterilize it aswell.
