That's ceramic wick material correct? Some of the research I did on ceramic wicks spooked me a little bit, so I never bothered. When I get my Reo Grand LP and Reomizer2, I plan on wrapping #400 mesh around a 28 gauge length of wire, using THAT as the coil, and then threading cotton through the coil. I'm using that on my Trident V2 and its incredible. Crisp, clean flavor with the density offered by cotton. Riptrippers coined a name for that coil, but I can't remember what it was. Believe he used #325 mesh instead of my #400, as well as using 32 gauge interior wire instead of 28 gauge. Dangit its a fine vape.

Sir status, to say the least

I think dripping is just a phase many go through. It is fun at first but gets old fast. It is just too time consuming and a limit on other of life activities. I mean, what else can you do, beside nothing, while dripping ?

The very fast improvements pace of Tanks, Cartos, Clearos, ... etc makes dripping obsolete to the vast majority of vapers.

Drippers remind me of how much the original DOS users resisted moving on to Windows back in the early computer days. Where is DOS now ?

Drippers remind me of how much the film users in photography resisted moving on to digital back in the early days of digital photography. Where is film now ?

Well with the quality and performance that can be had out of the rba tank systems, most rda's just seem like more work no gain to me. But, I did find a great looking rda, that I just had to purchase, the Magma.

But yeah, lot of drippers around here, and some excellent inovations too. Was looking at the Cats also, but Magma won the debate between the two. Thinking this will be my only authentic dripper purchase, Although, technically, my flash-e-vapor V2 is a dripper with a tank system, and I have dripped with it, but mainly for testing new build and juices and breaking new wicks in.

Something for everyone. Doubt dripping will ever decline, they keep trying to improve the wheel, and are sometimes successful.

Vape long and Prosper!!

have you seen the 3d dripper? you squish instead of squonk.

Well, yeah; as soon as windows worked out all the bugs, then the dos users were able to upgrade; in fact for a while you started in dos and widows ran on top of dos; if windows failed you still had dos.

Drippers should come with a tank option so if your damn tank isn't wicking properly you could just take it off and just drip; I expect pretty soon there'll be a kayfun parts kit with just a topcap and mouthpiece to fit on the kayfun base, or more likely a few of the existing dripper tops probably work on the kayfun base.

Dripping is very popular and I think the tank based RBAs have only served to expand the popularity of dripping.

EVERYONE wants a Kayfun/Russian, and the fastest way to learn how to build coils for those is to get a basic dripper like the Igo-L and practice on it.

So in order to drip, I am going to HAVE TO LEARN building coils huh?

You don't have to, there are premade dripping atomizers out there, but finding someone who stocks them anywhere other than the internet is going to be a bit rough.

And if you're going to be using a tank RBA like a Kayfun then yeah, you've got to learn how to build coils, or buy coils from someone who is custom making them for you. It's not like you can walk into your average vape shop and say "I want a 1.3 ohm twisted wire chimney coil for my Kayfun please".

Hey all,

I've always been partial to dripping, I hate dealing with clearomizers/etc. All of the people brick and mortar stores around me tell me some variation of "no one drips anymore" -- I kind of suspect that the clearomizer has more asthetic appeal for the new vaper. Is dripping on the decline?
I assume you were trying to buy just a plain atomizer for dripping, like a 510 or 306? That kind of dripping has become less common nowadays. But, it's far from dead. It's just not all new and super exciting. IOW it's not talked about much. Dripping on a 510, 901, or 306 atomizer is simple and reliable. It will always be around.

So in order to drip, I am going to HAVE TO LEARN building coils huh?
No, absolutely not. Take a look here for advice: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/atomizers-cartridges/405910-regular-atty-drippers-dying-breed.html

I got a cheap RDA a while ago, even while I was still thinking I had no interest in dripping. I figured I'd try it out when and if I felt like it, and eventually I did. At first it wasn't my cup of tea, so I put it aside for a while. I gave it another try recently and, after spending an afternoon getting the hang of it, I really enjoyed it. I am already planning how my next build can improve on my current one, and how I'd like to drill the airflow holes a little larger. The extra flavor and vapor production is really nice. I am, however, in no hurry to dump my clearos or tanks. I have several rigs with different flavors in them and I like them all. I'll put down the mech with the RDA and pick up the EVOD on a Spinner, then grab the SVD with the Protank, and be just as satisfied with each of them. To me, it's very much like the difference between smoking cigarettes, cigars or a pipe; they all have different dynamics and pleasures inherant to them.

Nowadays I am dripping 75% of the time, Kayfun Lite 25% of the time.

The Kayfun is the best flavor I've gotten out of a tank, but I'm still having some issues with my wicking setup, too much or too little cotton. I'll get it down eventually.

Dripping, for me, is so much easier. 2 of my ADV's are thick dark juices, Boba's Bounty and 'Bacco B. These juices will caramelize and gunk up a coil within a day of vaping. Pulling out the cotton, dry burn, rinse, rewick. So much better than dealing with $2 coil replacements. The flavor I get from my RDAs is the best I've ever vaped.
