I'm trying to cut as much cost as I can.. I was spending 300 a month on cigs! I'm new to vaping and have not touched a CIG in days!!! I'm looking to save as much as I can. So it brings me to this. Would I save money rebuilding?
don't forget the liquid. if you buy them, they add up quick. if you are into making your own which i'm not into, less expensive.
I think even with a regulated device having a DMM is just a good idea...redundancy check. Good for checking you batteries before and after they come off the charger. Double checking your resistance also helps to protect against potential shorts. Cheap regulated devices are notorious for incorrect readings. And with batteries that can vent why risk it for a mere extra $20.

Pack of cigs cost 5.25 a bottle of juice costs 30ml $18. I use about 4ml on a heavy vaping day vs about 1 pack+. Vaping cost $2.40 per day vs smoking at $5.25+. That almost 50% savings, goes along way too keeping me supplied in Kanthal ($1/foot) and cotton balls ($0.50/bag).
Yeah there was a start-up cost, My guess is around 150.00 since June. Everything except a dripper and 1 EGO1100 battery (failed) still in use.
I have settled on a Kayfun Nano Tank on top of a Origin mod clone, running on 18500 bat an a VW Kick.. I am currently vaping at 1.9-2ohms with the kick set at about 1/2 way (8-9 watts). Started with a EGO T 1100mah batts and Kanger Tanks. Still use a mini PT3 on a EGO1100mah, with 1.9ohm DIY verticle coils. Funny how almost the exact same coil works so differently in the Kayfun as the Kanger, with same batt is like night and day. Not only do do get 5x the vapor out of the kayfun you get that much more flavor. The new mod setup is 1/4" taller than the mPT3/1100 combo and fatter at 22mm vs14mm and quite a bit heavier being solid brass. It still fits in a shirt pocket, and doesn't snap in half every time I sit down, bend or move with it in any pocket of my pants.
1$ per foot of kanthal is quite expensive
you might want to rethink your supplier! they are charging you up the .....!

Actually I do buy Kanthal from Lightning, but it is $1 at the some local B/Ms. I used the $1 as an exageration so it didn't seem vaping was too cheap compared to smoking, for me.
FWIW cost is WHY I quit smoking no other reason. I do not for one second believe vaping to be SAFE, only safer than smoking.
