Do thread adapters affect the performence of clearo's like T3?

I have a Lambo and a adapter to use a Karger T3 and a Saturn

I seem to get a lot of air and dry hits
Could it be the adapter?
Also have the same trouble with another brand---different adapter

I use the T3 on a smokeless Image brand with no adapter and no problem
Could it be the converters causing this or did I just get a bad T3 ?
I tried different voltages and same problem
