I smoked because of my fixation on fiddling and keeping busy while drinking. I also liked the big puff of smoke--but the smell, yuk. It seems to me that, unlike the smell of food that attracts so many people to eat, the smell of burning tobbaco doesn't seem to be missed by ex-smokers. Is this true?

I smoked because I "needed" to. I stopped enjoying smoking about ten years before I quit, I hated the addiction, I hated the control it had over me, and I hated how I behaved when I couldn't get my fix.

The smell of cigarette smoke doesn't really bother me, but I really don't like the smell of cigarette smoke.

I still occasionally get a craving when I see someone light up when drinking, but I just take take a few drags off my ecig, and I'm good to go. What does bug me (just as much as ever), is when a vapor or a non-smoker walk up next to a smoker just to cough and complain about the smell. Ugh, just walk away. I will simply never understand that logic.

I love the smell of a campfire but have always hated the smell of cigarettes. I did like pipe tabacco but not cigars. Now...I hate cigarette smoke even more. I love that cigarette smoking is being banned everywhere now that I have vaping. Ban away and legalize pot. Happy days are finally here.

See, that's were I just don't know how I stand. I mean just two years ago I was high upon my soapbox whining about how it's my right to smoke, and only businesses should have the right to ban smoking at their own liberty, not cities or states. I feel a bit two faced becoming a vapor and throwing stones at a glass house I once resided in. I believe it is still something people deserve the right to partake in, as long as they are well aware of the risks and the establishment allows it.

I read a lot of folks saying they like the smell...I am the complete opposite. Even when I smoked I hated the smell and couldn't stand smoke from a cigarette blowing right into my face. Now that I have quit, my sense of smell has gotten much better. I had some friends (they are a couple) visit earlier this week and the guy smokes. We went into town and I let him smoke in the car (with a window down of course) like I always did, and the smell of it about made me sick. Both my dad and step-mom are heavy smokers and I can hardly stand to be in their house anymore. I don't miss smoking or the smell of smoke at all.

I do miss the Zippo smell. And playing with it constantly.

I never liked the smell of a zippo...the smell of the fuel makes me queezy. Not just Zippos though...all fuel...gasoline, fuel oil, jet-fuel, diesel fuel...all of it. I get guys are work telling me they love the smell of aircraft fuel and I think they are nuts. Guess that is just one of the smells that get to me. When they start up the tractor in the hangar, it's all I can do to keep from upchucking in my trash can.

I as well don't mind the smell of a campfire, but I still don't want the smoke blowing in my face. I am constantly moving in a circle around the fire as the wind changes. LOL I like the smell of some pipe tobacco...like the vanilla flavors...but that's about it. Definitely not cigars, though the black and milds don't smell all that bad. Again...as long as the smoke isn't coming straight into my face.

I just started vaping two weeks ago. Iam having trouble staying on track. Iam smoking now  I guess it doesn't help I have a cheap ego style not a ego. And this tobacco juice taste like a flat tire. I hope I can get better juice tommrow. I have cut way back about 11 cigs a day compared to 30 35

Stay strong, it takes some adjusting, no doubt about it. There's nothing difficult about lighting a cigarette. There is definitely a learning curve to the whole e-cigarette thing, you just have to stay strong. Just think about the long-term benefits, if it's worth it, you will stick with it.

It definitely helps to find flavors that your like. I personally don't care for any of the tobacco flavors I have tried. Try something that is not tobacco. Also I have heard that a lot of the tobacco flavors take a long time to mature. Try steeping for awhile. I have heard that some of them take a couple months.

Try going to a local vape shop if you have one. Most will let you sample all their flavors which will help in finding something you like.
