Hi!

This weekend I've been invited to a party that includes drinking. Everytime I drink, I need to smoke. But I haven't smoked analogs in 2 weeks since I have bought my Tornado tank. How do you guys to at these occasions?

I am thinking about all the questions I am going to get, from people and (maybe) police that sees me vape. Explain it to all, that it is a electronic cigarette that produces vapor which contains nicotine and bla bla bla it is not dangerous and bla e-liquid and bla expensive. How are you being annoyed with this?

Then that every single one want to try it. I don't drink untill I puke, but sure is possible that drunk people drop it or pass it so that I loose it in the crowd. Last time I had a e-cigarette (e-gar) this happend quite frequently. If you know them, do you let others try out your PV?

I am thinking about buying a pack of analogs just avoid questions, avoid being seen as the "outcast" with the big black huge wierd cigarette, avoid need to think about refill/battery life and remember not to lose it and stuff. Like, sometimes it can be frustrating just to remember which pocket the lighter was in!

- Is my reasoning logical or am I just being paranoid? :)

Cheers!

Congratulations on your 2 weeks of non-smoking! That's great...I actually had to start over bc i back-slid on the analogs for 2 days. ( no juice ) ANyway...If i did go out still, i would definitely bring my PV! No worries about what people think ask...most probably will just look in wonder anyhow! If they do i say give them a short answer and go on about your business. Please don't but any analogs to avoid questions. I'm sure it can be a hassle, but the big question you have to ask yourself. Is that really gonna to benefit me & my health?!?! Take care!!

I always bring my PV to social occasions. It doesn't annoy me at all to answer questions. In fact, I relish at the opportunity to have friends or strangers see me use my PV. If it helps them get off smoking then it's a win. Feels good.

As for the police, we're doing nothing illegal here. I've been vaping since September and I've been stopped by the police once on a routine traffic check at night. They illuminated my PV with a flashlight, seemed concerned no doubt thinking it's a drug device (It was a long silver Ego 900mah), asked me what it was and I explained. They took it back to the car with them while they ran a check on my car, etc. After 5 minutes they returned and said "Good luck. Stay off cigarettes."

My suggestion: Show the world what you have. It's amazing how you can blow people's minds for the better.

As I see it you have nothing to be embarrassed about: you've made a great decision in vaping, now do it to it! I find a useful way to deflect questions is to turn the questions around--for example:

Everybody's smoking...you start to vape.

"What in the <expletive deleted> is that thing?!??!?!???"

"C'mon, man/woman/child/poster of same...don't you recognize an e-cig when you see it?"

"Uh...of course I do (lies)...

"Do you like it? Does it work?"

"Yup."

"Can I try it?"

"Nope...not here...I want to make sure I hang on to it. Go to ECF if you want to learn more (hand them one of the free ECF business cards you were savvy enough to order in the ECF store :))"

Done and done.

I love vaping around others in social situations...especially inside, when they have to go outside to smoke. It really intrigues them...and I'm more than happy to talk about the device. But that's just me...if you just want to "get your drink on," then let others know you'll be happy to talk about it some other time...NOW POUR ME ANOTHER SHOT!

:)

I always take my PV with me to social events,or the bar...etc.I do get some strange looks occasionally but i'm more than happy to answer any questions and try to educate people that are willing to listen.

Have you ever had any problems with bartenders or staff that want to throw you out?

I think I never would dare smoke at a bar! :p

I bring my eGo everywhere with me, I've never had a problem. Your friends will get used to it very quickly. Other people will ask questions, but you can meet some good people like that. If they're douche-bags then just give them the forum address and walk away. The only people I will let use it are my close friends, anyone else can buy their own.

I vape openly at bars (after asking a manager/owner, or at least the bartender) when I play pool on league nights. Never been refused yet. I get some strange looks, and some questions, but most seem to be at least aware of PVs, or e-cigs as they know them.

Here's a thread with some cards you can print out and hand out to the curious. I made some, and CASAA.org has some. On the CASAA home page, click on the "Resources" link near the top.

Actually most bars that i go to are still smoking establishments,so no problems with the bartender or staff. If it is a non-smoking bar, then I usually just go outside with the other smokers.I'm not quite comfortable yet vaping at smoke free bars,or clubs....
