when I vape at higher setting, it don't taste BURNT...it's just kinda hot and harsh on my mouth/throat. even when I used to smoke analogs I smoked "lights"....I'm not used to a harsh tasting vape...and I vape 12mg nic...and that's plenty of TH. my atomizer im using on my volcano lavatube is the volcano brand standard atomizer that they sell specifically for using with the lavatube. it's 3.0 ohms and I have a driptip attached. the atty is bridged...not sure if that has anything to do with it. and after reading all THESES replies to my post here I did some dripping again, and is was a horrible experience...the hits were minimal and the taste was just blah. I think it is just that this volcano brand atomizer is just junky. and after trying and trying to enjoy dripping, I think eventually I flooded the atomizer so I just gave it a rinse in warm water, blew it out and let it sit for a couple days to dry. I have another same kind but NEW atomizer that I may try to drip with soon....maybe its just the first atomizer is defective? any suggestions are appreciated. and you can look at this atomizer on the "volcano" website it is listed under the lavatube accessories section. it is lavatube specific atomizer they sell (it's probably just junk).
If anything tastes burnt at 3.0 or 3.5 watts, there is definitely something wrong.

Maybe the wicking is so bad that no juice is getting to the atomizer.
Or maybe you are mistaking watts for voltage.

No juice on earth should even think about tasting burnt until you are at around 8 watts.
The same is probably true for any atomizer that comes in at 3.8 ohms.

I typically vape at around 10 watts, but since I'm dripping I don't have any wicking issues to worry about.
My atomizer is 2.3 ohms and my Twist is usually dialed up all the way to 4.8 volts.

What kind of "dripping atomizer" are you using?
Do you have a link?

You're not going to just pick up an atomizer, and instantly get a great vape. There is a learning curve to dripping properly, and believe me, we have all been there. The key is to not get all frustrated when you flood the atty, get dry hits, or even pop an atty or two. It's just part of larning what you can/can't do with an atty.
After you learn what makes your atty come alive there is nothing quite like dripping.
Part of it is the ritual involved. Dripping into the atty is about like getting out the old pack of smokes, and even recoiling a RDA is about like refilling the old Zippo.

I think it's what your using as a dripper.

Try an RDA instead of an old style drip atty and there is a HUGE difference between the two. They are not even in the same universe.

I used to drip to taste my juice. I've reached a point, however, where I don't like anything anymore so I just fill a tank with unflavored and vape......lol

Me too. Every time I try a flavor, I'm jonesing to finish it so I can get back to unflavored. To date I prefer to get flavor w/ beverage while vaping.

I still try to find my vape flavor from time to time when I have time.

I've got mass quantities of flavors I don't care for and I can't be arsed to do anything with them....lol

LOL I already have to get a magnifying setup out to build one coil, let alone two! But I understand there is perfection, and then there is....I dunno - what comes after that - there is always something better:D

Small diameter RDA vapor quality is hard to beat but an Aqua dual coil can do it.

I consider Aqua dual coil a luxury vape that takes some effort to build and fill.
I consider a small diameter rebuildable an essential workhorse that produces very high quality vapor w/ a simple build and simple fill.

Dripping is what got me off analogs. Once I found dripping I never looked back. I've tried cartos and it just never appealed to me. Plus I like variety so I usually have at least 4-5 different juices I can change depending on what I feel like at the time.

I just picked up a KFL+ earlier today and not completely sold on it yet. I'll have to get back to you guys on it.

I'm using a Patriot, Omega, and an igo -w on 3 different mech mods. Besides changing flavors on the whim, I enjoy building to see how different builds work. My patriot is on a single coil 5/4 wrap 24g, Omega single coil 5/4 26g, and igo-w 5/4 with twisted 28g.

I'm still fairly new to vaping and might be biased but I still think the flavor is fuller on a dripper.

    Just my 2 cents.

    I've never tried unflavored. What's it...uh...taste like?

I have had to switch up my flavors between two very different tastes. Usually I like a dark, more on the bitter side cinnamon or coffee flavored juice. But quite often have to switch to a sweet citrus flavor (exactly like a "cheek smacker" lemonade) so soury sweet your salivary glands actually hurt the first hit. The flavors are in such contrast, I can switch once or twice a week to keep them both as my favorites.

So I had to pick up a dripper yesterday to see what all the fuss was about.

Running a .5 ohm dual micro

So, I get where people are coming from now. It's pretty easy to get good flavor and vapor out of a dripper.

That being said, I've played around with my RSST enough that I can build it to perform just like a dripper -

Funny thing is, because the RSST is a genny with vertical coils I can reduce the top cap far more than what the Igo W is so the RSST actually has more flavor. The Igo does put out more vapor though due to increased airflow.

that's a nice looking build you got on that RSST!

I am definitely guilty of this in the past but it's pointless to talk about the flavor of dripping unless you also talk about the atomizer itself. I can drip into a joye 510, a cisco spec, an RDA and they are completely different experiences and flavors.

I don't really drip much with stock 510 atties but I do use my rda's all the time. Not for dripping's sake but I like the flavor and performance I get out of my rda's and you have to drip them or else they taste really nasty. I also love my kayfun and if all things were equal I would prefer at least a small tank on all my devices. But things being as they are I use my drippers and don't really mind the act of dripping . .although I do prefer a tank set-up.

Hell, my eyes are 73 years old and I'm building these little things

What I'd love to do is reach inside one of my old bridgless 510's and pinch the coils together into a micro just to see what happens. Wonders if they make a magnifying glass that would let me see in there with tweezers & fingers in the way.
