Tried re wrapping again, got all coils lit up properly. Now when i go to vape i get an immediate burnt taste and harsh on the throat.. this thing is so damn fussy. ive looked at all the youtube videos possible... can anyone give me some pointers here? id appreciate it, thanks

Make sure your wick is at the bottom when you are vaping. You may need to tilt your PV a bit. Also, make sure you aren't pulling too many volts, that can lead to a harsh taste. I tend to like a 2.4Ohm coil at around 3.8 volts on my Zen Atty.

Here is a great video by Zen himself on setup:

I have a 1.5ohm coil at 3.5v, too high you think?

Try 3 volts. That puts you at 6 watts - then adjust from there. I find shooting for 6 watts on my Zen-Atty/Provari is a sweet spot. Depends on the juice, but a good baseline. Not enough vape? Bump up the voltage. Tasting harsh or burnt? Bump the voltage down.

If it is still "not right" check your coil - a hot spot can ruin your day.

Also, disclaimer: I like a cool vape, so I tend to go for a lower wattage than some might. YMMV.

Edit: I am currently blowing HUGE clouds with my Zen Atty Pro and Provari with a 4/5 wrap at 2.6Ohms at 3.8 volts. Fogging up the room - need to open some windows, in fact.

Are there any good RBA's out there that dont need to be upright all the time? Im looking for something I can take to work and stick in my pocket without thinking of it leaking. Ive tried IBtanks and it just doesnt give me the flavor I like, and ive also tried the protank2's. Could anyone help me out here? Thanks

Cheers, Matt

No, all of the Genesis style atomizers will leak when laid on their side. They also don't travel very well, as I've found out the hard way! A good bump or jolt and you've moved a coil and get to fiddle with it to make it happy again.

Once you guys have a nice coil setup that is perfect and all burns evenly, how often after that do you find you have to fiddle with the coils again? Im always paranoid and I end up checking daily and poking at them all over again...

Once I have a good coil, I generally find I don't need to mess with it. Every few tanks, I will flush the tank with hot water and dry burn the wick. At this point, you may need to re-adjust things a bit. About once a week, I break everything down, clean the tank, and re-coil the wire. When I re-build, I torch my ceramic wick. Pretty much a fresh start at that point. So long as I don't break the wick, the only material cost is about 3 inches of Kanthal wire per week to keep the whole thing running.

Now im using the wicks that the ZAP comes with.. Do you recommend I make the switch to ceramic wicks? And where abouts can I purchase these to try? Thanks a lot!

Are ZAP's prone to leaking thru the bottom where the tip makes contact? Everytime I change my liquid or add more, when I take the ZAP off my Provari there is juice on the provari contact and the ZAP contact... is this normal or is it defective?

I have 3 ZAPs and one ZAU, all but one purchased new. The only one that leaks is the one I purchased second hand. I believe they tightened the center post too much and broke loose the "thingy, tube" in the center. It still works, take a little extra time to get things tightened up because of it spinning/turning. But it's the only one I have that has this leakage at the bottom threading.

If you want a tank type system that has great flavour look no further than the Diver http://www.atmistique.gr/en/mods-re...l&product_id=480&category_id=14&keyword=diver I don't own one yet personally but I'll be buying one soon enough to replace my Killer 705. If you don't mind dripping I have a different suggestion. I have nearly every different type of atty out there, genesis, silica RBA that uses a tank such as a term c etc, evods, pro tanks, etc etc.

This is the best vape in my arsenal eBaron Dripper Pro
