Do you ever feel like a junkie?

I was out with some friends last night for dinner and when I finished eating (like always) I needed a cig. Well I looked around and didn't see anyone else doing it so I figured I'd go outside real quick but it was raining so hard that I couldn't. So now my only choice was the mens room and off I went. Once there I looked around and it was empty so I had pick of stalls, lol. When I went to take a hit off my 510 I could tell I was getting low on liquid, but no problem because I came with a backup bottle and filled her up. But while standing there it hit me, I felt like I was doing something really wrong and I'm not talking about the being in public thing, it felt more like what ( I think) a drug user or junkie would feel like. Have any of you ever felt this way?

I'm not worried about it or anything, I just thought it was strange that it made me feel that way. If anything you would think when I was smoking real cigs that might happened but it never did. :)

We feel this way because we are nicotine addicts, no other way to say it, just like a ...... junkie. Always keep spare with ya in case, cus if you run out youll be buyin a pack if ya know what i mean

I have never had the feeling I was doing something inherantly wrong when out and wanting to vape. I do, however, take the time and courtesy of checking with those immediately around me so as not to offend them needlessly.

I keep all references to vaping worded in a way that does NOT in any way link my PV to "ecig", "smoking", or all the other references which might put my vaping in a bad light.

I was at a huge American Cancer Society fund raiser last Saturday night and my vaping was something that attracted interest, curiosity and generated support after I explained. I was glad to do so. I was also glad to ask ACS members to support PV usage and to urge the national society to also do so. These people that were attending this annual function are representative of the people providing the funding for ACS, they appreciated being informed and given the links to where they could get additional information.

I think our perceptions are sometimes based on how WE feel about our vaping. For me, I do not feel like it's weird or funny looking at all, quite the contrary. I get so much positive reinforcement when out and about, and find more and more people saying to me that they have a friend or relative or coworker using PV's.

I have been analog free for 14 months, and nothing anyone says or does is going to make me feel bad about that. It's my badge of honor, I wear it proudly, but I also realize that we are still on the uphill side of the battle of educating society about the usage of PVs.

Thank for listening to this old woman who is no longer a smoker !

This is good to hear--and considerably more constructive than my own usual stance on the three-letter organizations!

I don't feel "bad" at all when I vape. I actually enjoy pulling out my 510 in public where analog smoking is banned. The initial stares are classic and always lead to curiosity and then questions. If it is a bar or coffee house I usually end up with a small crowd around me as if I was holding a puppy. Once educated people, including non-smokers, are very receptive. Most can't believe the lack of second hand smoke or smell. Johnson Creek has a small card explaining what e-smoking is and why it is legal. I try to carry a bunch of them in my wallet. I am running low and need to email them to get some more (if they still print them).

I don't feel like a junkie but since I refill with a syringe, which I obviously carry with me, and the police where I live have never heard of a pv, I'm going to have some explaining to do if I ever get pulled over. If they try to confiscate my bff Tornado, there's a pretty good chance I'm going to live at the Grey Bar Hotel for awhile.

Recently I ran out of juice and found a local carrier. He was only open on Saturdays and Sundays at the local flea market. He actually offered to meet me "somewhere" so I could have my juice! It was Friday afternoon, so I waited. Great customer service, but I still felt a little funny about it.

Also, I wanted to keep all my supplies in a box up and away from pets. My husband and I went into a Homegoods store to find a decorative box. I picked one out, and he said, "Is that what you picked out for your .... lab?". We got some looks!

I've felt like a junkie a few times in my past, doing things that can't be mentioned here.
And I've felt like a junkie those times I've picked up a cigarette .... off the ground to smoke.

But I've never felt like a junkie using an electronic cigarette.
I guess because it pales in comparison to some of the other things I've done.

My mom was over my house when the mailman came by with a package from Health Cabin. You have to sign for those. So I was asking the mailman if there was a form I could fill out so in the future he could just leave it. I noticed they were both looking at me with expectation in their eyes, my mom was even shaking the package. So I told them it was perfume.

Ugh...I'm a sneak and a liar.
