I will vape indoors here in VA, where smoking is banned. Our wonderful, open-minded and intelligent Attorney General has specifically stated that PVs are NOT included in the indoor smoking ban. He has defined smoking as the use of a lighted tobacco product and intelligently pointed out in a letter that vaping requires no lighting of anything. If a business owner asks me to stop I will do so while attempting to explain everything but I do not go against their wishes.

I just started last week and used it in a restaurant for the first time when I went out for some drinks. I didn't feel comfortable using it when it was busy, but as the night went on and it became less crowded I busted it out. Got a couple looks. I didn't get any flack, but the waiter asked my friend if I was vaping something other than e-liquid. Not sure why he didn't ask me though. Only time I've ever seen them used in public was in an asian coffee shop. Funny, because those places usually allow cigarette smoking, illegally of course.

I vape in my car and out when I am walking in the park. Our campus just went smokeless, so I have to stealth vape at work BUT I did give a demonstration today on how to use my PV while I was working the front desk. Everyone wanted me to blow a puff in their face  when one person exclaimed it smelled like pear & juicy fruit - which it was... One co-worker said it was for drugs and I said, DO I LOOK LIKE A DOPER TO YOU?!?!?!?! He replied that SOMEONE would use it for drugs. To which I replied, they use your pepsi can for drugs as well, but that doesn't mean you can't buy a soda to drink, does it?

I vape just about everywhere, including my office at work. My boss does not mind and the company does not currently have a policy against it.

Same here. I've even received my boss' permission to vape in my office. Consequently, I think he's considering vaping when I approached him about it. I gave him one of my vendor cards and he said he was going to look into it.

Thanks for this link xander. I too live in VA and have been looking for something like this when I've been confronted a few times about my PV. I'll also take a copy of this to my boss to show to his bosses as the campus I work on has no set policies on PV's.

However, this is almost 3 years old. I wonder if there has been an update to this?? Gonna have to check it out.

UPDATE: Just sent an email to the AG office to see if this was still current policy. Will update again when they respond.

I vape all places I normally would have a smoke, and now I can vape where I couldnt, so definately do it out in Public.
Right now I'm at work sitting in front of the PC and vaping away, room full of 40 people, boss and big boss has given the a-ok for me vape.
Even with a floor full of people, computers and smoke detectors :D
Hopefully I never set off the alarm cause the sprinklers will come on! hehe

I find myself hesitant to vape in public. If I am at a bar/restaurant, I still go outside to vape if I can. Something about holding the same rituals i use with analogs helps me stay true to vaping whenever possible. I don't vape in stores or the mall, I guess the though has never really crossed my mind. I vape away in the car, although I certainly get constant funny looks from cars around me. Still waiting for the day the cop pulls me over and I roll down my window as a plume of vapor comes pouring out. That'll be a fun one. I have yet to fly since I started vaping, so I'm not sure how that will go. And I just don't have the balls for the movie theater vape yet. Maybe someday. At people's houses I tend to ask, and mostly they don't really care.

I vape in the smoking section at work. A lot of smokers ask me about it and some have tried other PVs and have not been happy with them. I enjoy talking about it even with my limited knowledge.
My husband's employee Christmas party was at a nice restaurant and I vaped there, even had a waiter plug in my backup PV to charge it.
I stealth vaped at Disney World...that was fun.

I`ve vaped in many non-smoking "zones". Restaurants, Bars even at work on Cargo Vessels. Sporting events, Public parks you name it. I did have the first mate on an unnamed "military cargo vessel" ask me if i was smoking. I took a couple of minutes and explained what it was to him. He was a analog smoker, and very interested in giving them up. I gave him the forum address, he may be lurking around here somewhere.

In the US, e-liquid is classified as a tobacco product (silly, but really probably the best way to deal with it in our bureaucracy, legitimizes it to some extent, makes above board chain stores comfortable selling it). This means you shouldn't use it in any "tobacco free" areas. Basically, if it's not cool for you to smoke there, you probably shouldn't vape. Sometimes social science wins out over chemistry/biology.

Until vaping is more "normal" than smoking, the push toward vaping in non-smoking areas is an uphill battle, fought by very brave but slightly dickish people.
