I have no use for mods that I can't fix myself. In the case of regulated mods, that means being able to stock spare circuit boards. But lately, I find myself vaping my mechanicals as much or more than my regulated mods. About a month ago, the board in one of my regulated mods failed and I haven't bothered to replace it despite having plenty of spare boards on hand. Go figure.
hi rossum!
build about 20 mods and had a lot of fun ..but lately bought some others ..evic miny ,reuleaux 200 ectr.
for the simple reason they are about 20 bucks cheeper complete ! then the board itselv .
my home made sx350 is still one of my favorates . with all that experience of building , its not lost .
they all have tact switches ..which I am not to keen on for long live...allways can build a new mod with the parts and use my magnetic switch , which never failed or even misfired ! have it in several diy mods. ...still having fun

As far as atties, there's really not much to fail on an RDA except O-rings and clamp screws. I'm not worried about the FDA closing places like The O-Ring Store or McMaster-Carr.

That's kinda what I was thinking, about my Achilles RDAs; the only parts in those that might fail are the o-rings -- and surely those will still be available, fr'instance from McMaster-Carr?

Kayfuns to some extent too, though those do have those delrin insulator bits under the block. Maybe I should stock up on Kayfun insulators?

Yep, it's amazing how cheap complete regulated mods have gotten. Two years ago, it was hard to find a DNA20 mod for under $200, and I thought I was getting a steal when I bought an open-box MVP (11 watts!) for $50 from a local B&M.

Northern NJ native , Coastal NC now.
I've never paid full price, taxes, or shipping for any of the ProVari I have ... the last 8 were bought for @ $30 each

who wouldn't have multiple mods, if their favourite mod was on sale like this ...

Like I said, The O-Ring Store. Yes, it exists -- Google it. The trick is figuring out the actual size you need.

Kayfuns to some extent too, though those do have those delrin insulator bits under the block. Maybe I should stock up on Kayfun insulators?
Back when I thought the KFL+ /R91 might be my end-all atty (before I got into bottom-feeding), I bought a few complete rebuild kits for them that included both insulators, all the O-rings, spare screws, etc. They weren't expensive at all. I'd guess they're still around.

Yes, Lightning Vapes carries them -- in fact I think I have one complete kayfun-rebuild kit, that I bought for one of my kayfuns that always seems to leak a bit from its 510 screw -- never actually dismantled and rebuilt it, as around that time I discovered the Achilles and put the Kayfuns away for a rainy day. But I could order some more of those complete rebuild kits, they're not costly at all.

jep I still have two mods with the dna 20 and one with a dna 30. never vape over 20 watts anyhow . lately playing with single coils in my favorate atty the aromamizer and see how low I can go in wattage and get a decent vape .
my favored so far k a1 34g 4 strands twisted 2.5 mm 7 wraps or so .comes out around 1.4 ohms . having fun !
