Do you have to refill carts right away?

I am new to all of this - currently, just interested in buying cartomizers until I find the flavors I like and then want to advance to refilling. If I don't refill the used cartomizers right away will they dry out and become useless or the atomizer part not work? So should I save the used ones or just toss them for now?

Also, if I wish to make a cart less strong by adding VG - approximately how many drops would I add to take a cart from 24 mg. to 18 mg. Would I have to vape a little to have enough room the add the drops?

VG is very thick and will be kind of hard to add to a cartomizer. What about PG which is thinner. If the cartomizer is full when you add to it, it will become over full and drip. So vape it some and then add the additional liquid.The used cartomizers should be fine until your ready to refill them. You might want to clean them first if you are going to refill with a flavor that won't go well with what was in there.

No need to throw them out. They can be reused many times. They'll be okay to reuse if they go dry as long as you don't vape them dry...but you'll know that by the horrible taste. I learned a lot about cartos from watching youtube videos. There's got to be thousands of them...everything from refilling to cleaning (just saw a guy who takes all his used cartos, boils them and rinses them out in a colander like spaghetti). Adding a few drops of VG is okay...like Springbird says it's a bit thick...but a few drops will work okay and it'll dilute and lower your total nic strength.

Yeah, carts do not last very long until you need to refill. Why I never used the atty/cart combo at all for a long time.

Here is the difference:

Atty/cart provides a stronger hit- but not many hits
Carto is a bit less strong, but can puff forever

They both have their place. I have cut off about 1/3 of the filler in my carts to make them last longer. I like them a bit more now.
