Just wondering how do I know when a cart should be refilled and when should I throw a cart away? These are newbie questions and I have been vaping for 2 months now but I'm getting really muddled with carts and seem to be wasting a lot of them.

I'm also wondering when you feel a cart could do with a boost not necessarily because it tastes burnt but because the nicotine seems to have died down a bit should you just add 5-10 drops instead of 20-25? If you do this do you count that 5-10 as 1 refill or 1/2 of a refill.

Thank you. :glare:

do you mean a cart (cartridge) or a carto (cartomizer)? with a cart you use an atty, with a carto, the atty is built in. your question can be answered better when we know :) you also might as well tell us what pv you are using too, we want to know everything LOL

I don't use cartos, but you almost never have to throw a cart away.

My best advice with not knowing what system (as Cags mentioned) you are useing is to say never let the atty get totally dry. When the atty dries and is fired it breaks it down quickly. It is totally ok to add more juice at any time.
Some people don't ever use the fiber filled cartridges and strictly drip into an att with a drip tip for a mouth piece; this is known as "dripping."
If you don't mind burning your lips or tongue you can skip the drip tip; this is knows as "tail-piping."

If you're talking about cartomizers, I throw them away when flavor drops off and the draw gets harder. I think it helps if you have a couple pvs going and when one carto feels a little hot, switch to the other pv. The type of juice makes a difference too. Dark or sweeter juice tend to clog up the carto a bit faster.

1) fill up an empty cartomizer with juice. The top of the filler material will look like a glazed donut (shiny) when it's fully saturated. I prefer to let my newly filled cartomizers sit overnight before using, but some people vape right away.

2) As you vape, take a peek every hour or so at the filler material (if you're not vaping heavily, you can go for longer periods). You'll eventually notice that the filler material will begin to dry as you vape.

3) Add several drops of liquid as needed onto the top of the filler material to re-saturate the cartomizer. Try to get that 'glazed' look again. If you put too much liquid into the cartomizer, blow out the excess onto a papertowel.

4) Repeat steps 2 & 3 over and over.

The quickest way to shorten the lifespan of a cartomizer is to let it get too dry when vaping (you'll burn the filler material).

Hi, sorry should of done so. It's the Viva 510 from Liberty Flights and I'm using cartos I think.. lol. I mean you drip the e-liquid on the sides of it onto a soft padding until it soaks in, so yes a carto. Cheers.

I've been led to believe cartomizers need to be tossed eventually, even if constantly re-filled. Is this inaccurate, or simply relating to them blocking up with thicker juices, and not actually having to do with the filler material as I believed?

I use Kanger carto's and usually change to a new one every five days or so. I use a drip tip and keep them wet, but they seem to turn
harsh after a while. Haven't tried dripping on an atty yet, but I like the setup I have now.

I have used only 2 brands so far, being new to Vaping myself. I started with the Cig2O brand from the local smoke shop. They were fine to get me started, and off cigarettes, but as my taste came back, I didn't like them as much. I got some stuff from Vapor4Life (which I really like), but noticed that I didn't get the vapor. So, started refilling the Cig2O carts with the V4L juices, using the V4L batteries. Very nice! I am ordering some drip tips, as the caps are hard to remove from the Cig2O carts. What I've seen so far: Cig2O carts hold alot of juice, and produce a nice vapor. They are a little hotter than the premium carts from V4L, but not as hot as the WOW carts.

As for "when to refill", I have started a schedule rather than trying to detect. For me, a cart will typically last most of a day, and then I end up burning it before I realize what's going on. So now, I put a new cart on every morning, and again around 3 in the afternoon. I also carry at least one spare, just in case. The used carts get tossed into a bowl at home, to be refilled during my next down time. I thinks most folks call that "topping off".

It works great for me, and so far I have about 2 weeks on the 3 carts I have with me now. Still nice and strong.

Hope that helps.

What about a clearomizer without fill? I will get a few puff that are good and then CHOKE burnt!!!!!!!!!!! It's completely full and brand new.

you have to fill the clearomizer and add a drop or two directly on the atty portion! Again the idea is to keep the atty wet. What oHm atty are you using and on what PV?
