do you have to use a certain kind of cotton to rewick with? , mine tastes burnt

Okay so I just rewicked my mini pro tank 2 for the first time with cotton, I didnt rebuild a new coil just changed the standard wick it cane with to cotton and it tasts kind of burnt when I vape it,
I dont know if your supposed to get a specail kind of cotton to do this with I just grabbed the cotton balls my mother had in the bathroom, there was no package so idk what kind they are.
Any help here would be apprecaited

I changed flavors and tried it back and forth against a brand new coil untouched for comparison and I would say its not really a burnt taste as much as it just tastes wierd
There is a bery slight burnt-y-ness to it but its just strange tasting I cant put my finger on it
The cloud are deff thicker with the cotton but the flavor isnt there like it should be...
Im guna take it apart and see if the cottons burning but im deffinaitly wondering if mybe I used the wrong kind of cotton

There is a little difference in cotton types but you should get decent vape from any kind. Take the cotton out and fire the coil by itself until it glows then stop. Do that a couple of times to burn off any burnt juice or cotton, then put a new wick in.

if it's burnt-tasting - rewick it, with a little less cotton this time.

You will likely need less than half what you think you do.

Ya I it did burn the coil a few times before I Rewicked it
I will definitely Give it another try with less cotton today

I am certain you know to thoroughly prime the new cotton, let it soak for a few minutes and start at a low voltage and work your way up. In my experience once the cotton is burnt that's the way it will always taste to a certain extent.

Yeah cotton needs time to absorb the juice the off taste will go away with use but most my cotton builds have an off taste when I first started using them
