Do you keep backups?

As we all know, vaping is not legal in SG. So in a case where it is almost impossible to find vaping products, do you have backups and how many?

The reason for asking is that I have bought 2 griffin 25s. 1 for use and 1 for backup. I may be doing the same for the avocado as well.

Do you think I may be a little drastic in my choices to do so? I really don't wanna have to go back to analogs after being off it for so long. I also have a few rdas but hardly use them anymore as tanks are more convenient.

Sorry if this is a stupid question as I feel that it is. But because products here are 3 times more expensive, I have to consider whether it is worth buying 2 to have a backup and the fact that I may never use it. Also, I mostly buy GV products since they are more durable.

I am all open to yours thoughts and opinions on this.

Thanks for reading.

I don't think it's drastic, considering I've seen some of your fellow countrymen report going back and forth from vaping to cigarettes and back again due to getting caught short on working gear and supplies.

And considering what we are facing here with proposed regulation and what it might mean for availability for anything from hardware to liquids you bet a lot of us are buying 6th 7th and 12th backups right now.

If you have too much you can always sell it. If you don't have enough you know the consequences.

I'm in the US. A 10 year supply of nic for me costs $160 including glass bottles and shipping. I could get a redundant supply from a different vendor in case something goes wrong with the first batch. I figure the fire button on any regulated mod might last 2 years so I'll keep one for each 2 year period I want to cover. 5 iStick Picos would cost about $130 from fasttech. I may go redundant with mods, meaning an equal number of a different make in case there are shelf life or other problems with the primary mod. I only use an SV rda clone ($9). I'll stock one of those per year I want to cover. A 10 year stockpile with full redundancy would cost me less than $800 starting from scratch and if everything works better than expected would last for 20 years. 10 years of smoking would cost me $30,000.

Sorry for sounding paranoid but i think this thread (specially the OP) and topic in general is not for the eyes of any authorities opposed to vaping. It reveals a fair bit of important information that can be used to build up a typical local vaper's profile and subsequently used against them if things go bad.

I wont elaborate further as it will be counter productive to do so...so Ive reported my specific objections to the mods. Thanks to nuvole for editing his/her post too.

Please bear in mind that in any other NORMAL society, this thread would be harmless and just fine...but the way things are, the less information you volunteer, the better.

PS. The first line of the OP is just classic...it reads like it was written just to be picked up by search engines....SEO at its best!

I think that unless a poster is a dealer with a ton of stock to seize... it's really not worth the while of any authority to do all the homework needed to track down anyone user. The amount of work required that will lead to a potential bust... well, I think they have bigger fish to fry; every one has quotas and KPIs. So long as we don't get too blatant about it, we ought to be left alone.

i hope.

Here's a thought...
While it seems logical to stockpile hardware and software as backups, I'm going to fly in the face of convention and challenge that.
I'd say, don't bother. And here's why:

Access to this equipment is not impossible and just takes effort. So re-stocking isn't totally out of the question if you're dedicated enough to the problem and have patience.

Secondly, technological advances and development in mods and atties is pretty insane. Every month there are more and more mods with all kinds of power and TC variations. And atties seem to be made faster than you can break one in.

You may stockpile a backup of today's top-of-the-line kit, but in 6 months there will be a cooler, better, puffer, clouding version. Guaranteed.

So my take would be to just enjoy what you have now and spend the immediate $ on variants to get more experience and just go get the replacement when you need to.

Just my 5 cents' worth.
