I wonder if any of you guys take pride in your gear, just like someone would with their car. I mean, like buying aftermarket drip tips or accessories, etc...going for high end, good looking stuff, etc....

I've never really thought about this when I used my EGO, as it was strictly a tool for quitting smoking, but ever since I got a mechanical mod, I started to have pride in my gear. And when I look at a newbie with their EGO or starter kit I always think "oh that's nice, but look at mine..."

Last trip, when I was in a land of vapers, a number of people wanted to see my ProVari and PV-1s because they are rare in Europe. My ProVari is full of beauty marks. It is a tool to me. Scratches, fading paint, a dented bottom cap from a fall; none of it bothers me. I use my gear... I buy drip tips for function and country of origin, not looks...

well, I went off and spent $30. bucks on an 8 inch pipe stem... nobody to watch me.. at my age
all my friends and loved ones have gone on ahead of me...
But that doesn't mean that I can't watch myself set back and put that pipe stem in my Nautilus or Kayfun
and no longer have to suck on some plastic or metal drip nipple... nope!
I really enjoy taking a nice draw or two and enjoy the aroma and soft white clouds and flavor in abundance
and wonder why so many people pay such high prices for vaping equipment and haven't found this joy.
Just a simple pipe stem... and peace and pleasure in abundance. Yep! Life can be good if i'll let it.

If I saw someone with an EGO in their hand, I'd want to go up to them and shake their hand for taking that first step.

As the risk of sounding cliche " It's not the size of the tool but how you use it "

Not everyone with a Ecig is in it for the hobby aspect. For many it's a means to an end. Nothing more

I take pride in all my stuff since it was my cold hard cash that bought it. It doesn't matter if it's my lil' V2's from my starter kit all the way up to my Provari I take care of them all the same. I never much thought about what other people would think. This is the only place where people know anything about pv's/apv's so I have no one to show them off to anyway.

I could not care a less what others have. I have never been a "must have what the Jones have" kinda guy. I prefer to be the guy people look at and say. Wow that looks vintage. People may snicker at me with my eGo-C's at work and being stealthy but I know what I have in the truck and at home on my vape stand.
