I haven't started DIY yet but will soon. I think I would really like to have liquid that contains both PG and VG as each liquid have advantages, which ratio for each I don't know yet.

But I was wondering do I only buy a bottle of 60mg nicotine PG and a 0mg nicotine VG liquid and mix them both together or should I buy the other way around, or what about 4 bottles, both PG and VG with and without nicotine.

I like the option of having only 1 bottle of something with nicotine because it's much cheaper than buying 2 bottles of PV and VG with nicotine but what do I really need? Your recommendations?

Also I bought at my local drug store a bottle of Propylene glycol USP 500ml for only 8$, of course no nicotine in it, it worries me to read this on the label : "WARNING: EYE, SKIN, LUNG IRRITANT. AVOID ALL CONTACT." Is that normal? Are you sure we can safely vape this? :?:

Zurd,

I have found DIY very easy after watching MistressNomad's videos! I bought one 60 ml empty plastic bottle to use as my main "Nic Juice" holder and then fill lil 6ml bottles from that 60 ml bottle and add the flavoring to those lil 6 ml squirt bottles.

I chose 60 mg also to start and using a 60 ml bottle made it very easy to figure out how much of each I needed! 15 ml of 60 mg nic to 45 ml 0 % VG gives me a whole 60 ml bottle of 15 mg nic juice:) ( I'm a 100 % VG user )

Just wear gloves! And pipettes don't work very well so I use tablespoons. One tablespoon is 15 ml so I bought a Tbs to be used only for this purpose. Wash off any splatters that get on you immediately and if it gets on your clothes, remove and wash.

And go crazy with flavorings! Vapor Renu and Perfumers Apprentice have awesome prices.

Good luck and have fun playing a chemist,

Lori

One word of advise I would give to anyone just starting DIY is to stay with what is recommended in Nikhil's DIY guide (stickied) and not stray too far getting creative. There is more to the complex mixes than most of us know - and perhaps even more than most eLiquid vendors know.

I recently learned that we shouldn't be mixing flavors from different companies together. Flavorings are chemicals that most closely resemble the actual flavors of a food, drink etc. and combining more than one manufacturer can have the potential for being harmful. My understanding is that some chemicals don't play well with others.
