My first experience at a kiosk when Ecigs first came out was gosh, 5 yrs ago? Not sure. It was a pitiful experience. There was no vapor, the thing did not work right. The guy changed about 3 cartomizers and they kept failing, and I figured Ecigs were a total con job. I'm so glad I checked back into it and got a vapor nine cig lookalike which even though it was expensive and I had to spend my life charging my batts, it satisfied me with vapor and I liked the juice I was using and it got me to look around for something better and realize vaping definitely could work for me.

I fell for the "free" e-cig online scam last summer. Still have that little cigalike. I really tried to make it work but didn't care for the taste (only vaguely tobacco-ish with a chemical aftertaste), and it ended up in a drawer. It wasn't until last month, when my wife and I realized we had a better use for the money we were wasting on analogs, that we got it out again. Then, we were both really put off by the resemblance to a cigarette. So I went out searching for something that didn't even resemble one, and got us each an eGo rig. We were ex-smokers by evening, and we know we can stay that way. I do have a couple 510s now that I use for flavor variety during the day - I'm over the cigarette-avoidance thing. In a way, that cheap Chinese mistake became a good thing. But if I hadn't seen a brick & mortar store shortly before the decision, we might both still be struggling and backsliding.

I don't think I've ever even seen a kiosk, I lead a somewhat sheltered life, but like many I started with a cigalike. I did a search for Electronic cigarettes and found a site with a comparison of different cigalike brands and I bought a starter kit from Eversmoke. It was enough to keep me off fags, but within two days of it arriving I had ordered an Ego type device. My experience was the cigalikes were inconsistent, I had to drag on them continuously to get any kind of hit and the battery life was very poor, not to mention the prohibitive cost, if treating the cartos as single use as they suggest.

When I was first researching e-cigs back in 2009, many discussions here centered around tinkering with cartridges for 510's and other 3-piece e-cigs - tea bags, straw mods, fluval, etc. I stumbled onto this video and decided to take the plunge with a KR808 from V4L:

Vapor4Life VaporKing - Solution To My Problem - YouTube

I moved on to other devices later, but the KR808 got me off of cigarettes within just a few days. Nothing short of a miracle.

A friend of mine that I don't see very often had been using ecigs for a couple months by the time I saw him. It was pouring rain and I wanted to go have a smoke. He suggested I try the ecig while I was jonesing for some nicotine because it was a good opportunity to give it an honest shot in satisfying a craving. I was genuinely surprised. Having used patches and gum n' stuff I was expecting it to be like those: helpful but not much.

I bought a starter kit that night and I still think offering someone an ecig when they were about to have an analog is the best way to demonstrate to someone that they really do the trick. I think a lot of smokers don't try it because they simply don't believe it works.

Sorry, can't help you since I avoid the remote control cars, the bedazzled cell phone cases, the water turned into soda, and the one cartridge equals six packs of cigarettes e-cigs at the mall kiosks. I shuffle through the mall with my shoulder pressed against the store windows just to avoid the salespeople at the kiosks who are always chasing me down in an attempt to get me to try their product. But I do commend you for making the effort. It can't be an easy job and I'm sure you have to put up with a lot of rejection and anti-social jerks like me. Hopefully other members will have better answers to your question. :)

Even though I never tried a mall e-cig, I saw a youtube video of Katherine Heigl using an e-cig on Letterman, which made me curious enough to buy a disposable at a tobacco shop, which led me to do some research, which led me here, which led me to e-Gos and a Provari and stuff. That's how I started vaping.

Yeah, I had a good time last week when I walked up to the kiosk in my local mall.... Especially when the guy hit me with the hard pitch, so I reach in my jacket and pull out my Prothingy with an AGA T2 running a 1.5 ohm coil with 50/50 juice and blow a cloud so thick he disappearsd from view for a few seconds. So then switched from the cig a like to a cigar sized one and tried like hell for five minutes to muster up a weak plume that paled in comparison to what I was blowing. He was sucking on that things so hard bis cheeks were caving in.....

Told him sorry I just didn't think his product was as good as what I was using. So then he tried to tell me that my APV was "too big" and that smaller is better. He said his battery lasts an entire week on one charge and that my device is not as good. Actually tried to talk me into switching from my rock solid rig into his cheap crappy product!!! So I look over at my wife an ask..." Is smaller better honey?" She laughed hysterically and we started walking away.

It was then I realized that I had been blowing nimbus clouds with only 3.5 volts, so I bumped it up to 4.0 and blew a cloud twice as big as any I'd made in our little "competition". A guy and his girlfriend stopped me and asked if I had just bought my device from that kiosk... I told him "no way" and handed him an ECF card, a Provape card, and a Clouds of Vapor card.

I have a personal ban on malls in which Kiosk salespeople aggressively chase down unassuming shoppers. However, I am a career salesperson myself and I have personally had some very aggressive sales gigs so I feel for you.

You have to consider your market, your product and your unique sales setting. Based on how most feel about being accosted by Kiosk salespeople while just trying to get from Nordstrom to Bloomies in peace, the best approach in this type of sales setting is to simply look friendly and be approachable, let the potential customer come to you.

Keep in mind, this is a sensitive product to force on people for a variety of reasons. A younger adult may come back at a later time when not shopping with mom, and mom may come back at a later time after having a health scare.

Also, E- cigs have had a lot of media exposure now... but not all positive or correct. Your job will first be to ask questions and listen. Ask about their concerns, their smoking habits, etc. Listen.

Lastly, be patient... remember, this is all new to them and smoking has been a lifelong habit for many. Your patience with potential customers will pay off in sales. And, no matter what you are selling.... always be honest, be realistic (under-promise and over- deliver), believe in what you are selling (it shows). Good luck.

I have never bought one at a kiosk, my first experience was going into my local convenience store, seeing a "logic" next to the marlboro lights, thinking to myself "this might be interesting....for next time". The next day (yeah, I was a PAD+ guy), I bought a logic as well as my daily pack, tried the logic cigalike, had it on and off the next few days along with the analogs, and that was that. Haven't touched a "regular" cigarette since October 20th last year (my 43rd birthday). I went through a few months of using different disposables (blu, surreal, logic, etc), before I bought my first Ego kit in December, and have never looked back from that!

I also work in a mall Kiosk selling E cigs. Our products are really good quality and I am happy to help people stop smoking. We also do not have outrages prices that a lot of kiosk have. I have met a lot of customers that are happy with our product and if they aren't then I help them till they are. I think its just my great relationship with my customers that keep them coming back. :)

But seriously, if it helps them get off analogs then I am happy for people. It also helps that I know our product in and out and other products as well, but I do not tell bull.... lies like some of these people. For some its the fact that they are interacting with somebody who uses the product and knows what they are talking about.

You need to know what you're selling....

For example: I asked the guy what the mah rating was on that battery he claimed would last a full week on one charge.... His answer:" I'm not sure." I know for a fact that my 2000 mah battery lasts a full day of HEAVY use.
My 2nd question was what is the resistance of the cartridge/atomizer his product was using and the pg/vg ratio of the juice inside. His answer: "That's too much information, I just sell the things."

He then told me that I knew "too much" about the ecig in my hand and that it was "too big" and "wouldn't I prefer something smaller? Yours is outdated technology man"

My advice to dudes like that.....learn the technology before you try to pass it off like you know what the heck you're talking about.

Haven't been in that situation as tried a friend's ecig & went straight to an ego passthrough but would think:

... If a salesperson found out I was using something higher end and said: "Well if you ever need something small or have a friend who's not ready to move too far from a cigarette, I hope I can help you ..." I would tend to remember them kindly;

... If a salesperson knew less than I did and tried to sell me on something inferior, I would assume they were an idiot and get away from them as fast as possible.

Before I had tried an e-cigarette, what would likely have got my attention was seeing somebody blowing clouds of vapour with a blissful expression on their face while I was dying for a cigarette ... I would likely have said "not interested thanks" to a sales pitch.

I kind of fell into vaping. I was invited to go to a B&M that just opened and figured sure, I got nothing else going on today. Might as well get out of the house for a bit. I had no intention of buying anything on this trip. But I was able to sample some juices at the store and they had an amazing sale going on, so I thought what the hell I pick one up. Being able to actually try the devices I think was really helpful as well as I had been very skeptical of ecigs as just some gimmicky passing fad. Man was I wrong! I went instantly that day from a pack a day to about 6-10. Within a week I was down to about 2 a day and about a week later at the end of the day I realized I hadn't smoked a cig at all, and that was the beginning of the end of my smoking days. I can't even describe the excitement I had that day as I had resigned myself to being a smoker for life. Roughly about 3 weeks after that day I did have a cig, but the amazing thing was, I hated it. It was so disgusting and couldn't believe that I was actually smoking a pack of those a day. Since then I have never looked back.
