Do you test brand-new atomizers in bulk?

This is a question probably best answered by those who aren't 100% newbies, but I'm wondering how many of you actually test new atomizers when you get them, especially when you get several at once. It's easy (and probably a good idea) to give new batteries a full charge and test them, but if you get 10 new attys at once, do you go through the motions of making sure they work or do you just chance that they will work sometime down the road? TIA

Bear- -Our orders are usually 100 at a time and yes--I go though each one and give it them a test--just 2 puffs to make sure they are firing. Usually I always find at 5 or 6 that are DOA--so it is good to test fire them---Sun
100 at a time!! Meaning you've ordered 100 more than once? How many total do you have? I've been vaping for 5 months and only have about 7 total and have only lost one due to a stuck USB pass.

You may want to just buy a digital voltmeter, that should tell you what you need to know, and if (eww) you want to leave the primer intact, you can.

Thhe couple of attys I've tested (just a few, haven't run through all of 'em yet) seem to be ~ 3Ohms resistance. if you get infinite, it's definitely DOA with an open in the coil or wiring. Test your specific model and average the results, so you know what's 'significantly deviating from the norm'...then it's likely 'about to be DOA.' 0 Ohms/no resistance = it's shorted internally.

Sun - you must be a sadomasochist, that many primer puffs in a row!?? 8-o

Hi Houdini--I have 320 now. I am thinking for the very long term (like 10 years or more) as I do not think I will be able to get these atomizers again "legally". Yes, there will more then likley be a way to get them on some black market--but I would rather not be involved in that.

I do not concern myself with any of the other parts as I have my MODS--------Sun

WOW! I wish I had the money to do that :(

But.. I've got no problems with the black market :p

    Wegster,

Testing 901 atty's I have found that almost all new/working good atomizers read ~3.2. It never fails that if I test one when it stops producing it is much higher than 3. I have seen them from 3 to 150 (and of course lots of 0's, which means stone cold dead). Once they pass about 10 Ohms they don't produce much vapor.

I had one that was really bad (148 Ohns) so I decided to try an experriment - I hooked it up to a 9v battery for 15 seconds until it got real hot, then tested it again. It took a few tries but it went from 148 down to 70, then down to 14. At 14 I could actually start to get small amounts of vapor, but I couldn't get it any lower. Eventually it went back up to 150 and I stopped messing with it.

I have had them spike up and return to normal several times and I have no idea why. I haven't really got these things figured out yet.
