Do You Transfer Your Nic Liquid to Glass Bottles?

I've got my nic juice and flavors, PG and VG and am wondering if those that have been mixing your own juice for a while transfer your nic juice to glass bottles after you cut it? Is it better to store it in the fridge? If you do transfer, where do you purchase the colored glass bottles from? It seems that every vendor I've looked at only sells the colored glass bottles in cases. I'm trying to be as safe as I can be because I'll be mixing for 3 people and don't want health concerns especially since the other 2 are my grown sons. Of course, that is assuming I'm going to mix a vapable juice which may be assuming too much! LOL. I'm a little concerned about the plastic leaching into my liquid.

I'm glad someone else has this concern. I don't want to cause health concerns for anyone including myself. I know I smoked for 30 years and did not worry about that but I'm trying to adopt a healthier lifestyle. Perhaps too late for me but not for my sons.

Thanks for the link. I did place an order. I'd rather be safe than sorry.

Hey thanks eveyone. I have saved all the links and appreciate the information so much. The Perrier bottles are a great idea I had not thought of. I did order some amber bottles and will mix it up when the bottles come, break it into smaller batches and store in freezer and refrig depending on how fast I think I will use it. I think it will be safer and would always rather be safe than sorry as the old saying goes.

I would be somewhat leery about storing a glass jar in a freezer. Perhaps doing more research may help.

Glass jars can also be used to store frozen foods, but they should not be used to store liquids. If you use glass jars, be sure to choose the wide-mouth, dual-purpose jars that are for freezing and canning. These jars are specially made to withstand freezing and boiling temperatures.

Warning: A closed glass container can explode and spread shattered glass all over the inside of your freezer if it is too full. Liquids expand when they freeze, and if there isn't enough room for them to expand inside the container, they will burst out of it.

This can happen with other containers, too, but you won't see the wreckage that you get when it happens with glass. It's the kind of mistake you don't make more than once.

That is a good safety warning. I know that when liquid is frozen it will expand so planned on leaving plenty of room for expansion. I know there is a thread in the stickies about long term storage of nicotine in the freezer so I think I will reread that thread. Just when I think I have the answer, there is something else to consider. It can get overwhelming for sure.

If the bottles contained water, that would be a valid point.

PG and VG actually contract when cold. Neither will freeze in my deep freeze even at the lowest setting. So they are smaller in bulk and do not get solid. There is no danger from the nic base breaking the glass.

I wrap them in bubble wrap and seal them in a plastic bag to protect them from other items in the freezer, but I'm not worried about the liquid inside them damaging the bottles.

(Folks are use to water freezing which is an unusual substance. Water expands when frozen. I do not know of another substance that expands as it gets colder except for water.)

Hoosier, I was just reading this in the thread I had mentioned above. I had forgotten it because I read it when I first thought about DIY. I'm going with the amber bottles and the freezer for the nic mix that I won't use right away. I was mistaken when I said the long term storage thread was a sticky but found it though a search. It says pretty much what your post says. I'm assured now that this will be a safe storage method. Thanks again for the information.

It occurred to me sometime later that PG in VG most likely would not freeze solid. Thank you for the clarification.

I don't transfer to glass, although I've also wondered if I should.

Here's a vendor that sells smaller quantities: Specialty Bottle

i tried 12 bottles of each --- 1/2oz - 1oz - 2oz - 4oz --- all cobolt blue glass w/standard caps cause i still trying to find a deal with droppers

your site recommendation was 35.52 + 17.04 shipping --- total of $52.56 --

however --- https://www.pelletlab.com has same 12 count bottle packs listed above for $45.83 shipped

i am still researching this -- i think a 12count of each cobalt or amber is good starting place for DIY with 500ml of 60mg nic juice

and flavor mixxes
