Do you use the carts with your attys?

carpe, I can't take credit for finding those, saw in this thread http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/general-e-smoking-discussion/215469-am-i-only-one-who-uses-attys-carts.html, but before you buy, see tj's post below...

You're right. As I mentioned to carpe above, got idea from another thread. Good thing I haven't bought those yet. And yes, I'm still using those tiny carts. They work well enough for me, just not as good on the road.

Laura posed her question, asked why. Since I'm still using carts, and nobody had answered yet...I'm not saying they're good for everyone, just good enough for me, for now.

Yea, I don't really care if it's called a cart, carto, clearo, tank, etc. I guess I'm just still in the "trying things out" phase and I'm looking into just about everything. I do know that I'm tired of fiddling with carts with filler, and I'm really liking clearos right now...but I'm still open to a lot of other things.

Replacing stock fillers that take more cart space and withhold juice with blue foam helped keep me in carts. I've updated post #20, more info. Carpe, find whatever works for you, keeps you happy, UBU no matter what others say. :)

thank you Justaguy, I think I 'get it' now! Confirmed that the standard 'fluff' is CRAP!!! YUCK!! So there IS another option! Blue foam? will have to look that up. You say that you fill a buch of carts at a time, I am assuming that you have to have an atty on each of them?

No...you can remove one cart from the atty and put another on. Also, check out Fluval foam. I had pretty good luck with it just before I found that I preferred clearos.

A 510-T atty has this inside that sticks up into the tank, and wicks juice to the coil.

A normal 510 has a wire mesh bridge over the top of the coil, and would not wick juice from the tank to the coil.

Both are available as standard resistance (SR) and low resistance (LR), but the 510 & 510-T are different animals. So don't be confused by it being called a "standard".

BTW, the 510-T, with that wick plate removed, is my favorite dripping atty.

I used to use attys and carts all the time, mostly dripping without the carts, but popping on a cart for out and about. Then I found the ce2s and learned how to deal with them.

Now I have one of these coming. I admit I'm not crazy about the looks but if it works I'll be happy. Should be here monday.

No, don't need separate attys for every cart. I do like to keep diverse juices separate, taste bad in same atty. Once carts are filled, replace condom just like cartos. I drilled holes in a strip of wood and all the 510 size carts, attys and batts sit on it on the desk.

I use one atty per "family" of juices, so one for all Dekang tobacco flavors, one for flavors I mixed with mostly TV Tobacco. My Dekang is at least 50% VG, has distinct flavors from others, so can't mix that with TV juice. Even my TV Tobacco is 40% VG, but is much more watery. It's easier to switch watery juices in the same atty.

I typically use 2 attys at a time for the 2 main juice families. Both attys lose optimal performance after half a day, flavor not strong, clogging, replace with clean atty when it feels that way. So, I'm rotating 4-6 attys during the day, throw in cup of hot water, dry burn later, minimal work.

Hopefully, not too much info. Most of this I figured out based on trial and error and a few YT videos.

Edit: all the dry burning in 4 months, haven't lost an atty yet.

ok, so after filling carts at once, where do you keepthem so they dont get 'messy'?

Inadvertently answered this in my post #31. You can also put them in trays, lay them flat, condoms should keep juice from leaking, like cartos. If you got prefilled carts as part of your kits, they should have come with condoms. If your carts came as atty covers, condoms may not have come with.

didnt know ths! why? What this means to me is, I have all of my 'stock attys" and 2 (I was told) good ones in one place. I have no idea what-is-what at this point, some used, some not, some s_ck, some not, etc. was trying to help a friend decide which of my juices she wanted to take on a trip, it was a nightmare!! We were dripping. Yuck in this one, old flavor in that one, another not seeming to work right, GRRRRR... These are some MORE of the reasons that I am a carto girl, but I have to tell ya, I use xl Dcc's. When one starts to go, Im losing almost 2 ml of juice!! Kinda feeling around for other solutions!

Thanks, tj. Yes, I understand the T/tank attys are different than regular Joye 510 attys. I didn't want to mess with those, so I've stayed away from true tank models.

Goodtimes, who posted the "tank cart" thread gave this as the attys he used Genuine Joye 510 electronic cigarette 10-pack of black atomizers. The linked Vaper Kings page shows those as regular 510 attys. If Goodtimes is using these with the clear carts, regular attys should work with them. We may have to PM Goodtimes to make sure.

Some have complained of losing juice in cartos as part of expense of using them, debatable and has been hotly debated. :)

I believe as many maintain that a good vape depends mostly on a good and clean atty, whether by itself or as part of a carto. Why do they get clogged? Juice dries up, especially thicker or sweet juices, gets burned onto heating coil. Think of an atty as a micro electric burner on an electric range. All kinds of stuff gets on it and I've found the easiest way to clean them is to turn on the power and fan. Everything burns off into smoke. Same principle in dry burning, burns leftover juice into ashes you can rinse out, starting over clean. Some juice clogs attys worse than others.

ok, hence my originall confusion in FIRST, throwing them away, SECOND, trying to fill them that way getting mouthful of juice!!!!

Yeah, those are completely empty carts, not even fillers. Can't do! Some come with fillers but no condom, so can't seal. :)

He's dead wrong, not only will the tank not wick in a normal 510, there is no wick plate (with spike) to puncture the bottom of the tank. Look at the pic above, if that is not in the 510 (or eGo-T) the tank will not work.

Don't know. He claims he's been doing it and offered 510 attys. Someone else in that thread said they used the same setup. The tank carts come with filler, which he replaced with foam, which should come up to the atty bridge. It'd be good to find out for sure.
