Just wanted to say thanks for a truly informative video. More importantly, I watched another of your videos on unflavoured nic juice. I only discovered vaping a few weeks ago (after 35yrs of smoking, not smoked since) but I'm really struggling to find a juice I enjoy. I think maybe you just pointed me right to it. THANKS!

Ok, I got a tobeco kayfun v4 and was so excited...but I freaking hate it. Vapor is super harsh, and very little. I know my coil is good but possibly just positioned wrong. I have it directly over the air hole but when I hit it I nearly cough until I pee. I'm using at the moment just some string wick that came with a fogger v4 that I haven't even tried to set up yet. If I can't get the kayfun no reason to try the fogger. I wanted more clouds, but I get far better hits from my smoktech aro tank than this stupid rebuild able crap. I'm starting to lose hope and would love some help from someone that knows what they are doing and can tell me what I'm doing wrong. All the cool kids have rebuild ables and I want to be like the cool kids.
I vape a 50/50 23mg so is it possible the nicotine is too high? What can my issues possibly be.
On another note I had to super dial down the airflow. People always want a lot but I'm used to it being a little stiff it's how I like it. Coughed less with the greater airflow but got no throat hit. Got the air where it pulls in a way I'm used to, but now it's too harsh for me to use at all. Am I perhaps just not compatible with rba?

I don't have any experience with kayfuns - just drippers but from what I'm hearing is suggest:

1. Check first for a hot leg.

2. Check that the wick isn't too tight in the coil.

3. Check that the coil is in line with the air source and very close to it.

Those are the common sources of similar issues in a dripper - #1 being the prolly the leading cause but if it isn't and #2 isn't, you'll need to repeat them if you have to adjust your coil if #3 is your problem. :)

Never thought I'd make it through a video that long, but I actually couldn't pull myself away. Lol I REALLY wish I had watched this before getting started, but I'm only two builds into this hobby so still good timing for me. Thank you for this!

Thank you Matt :) yeah, I hear you man. I have a hard time getting thru 5 mins of myself - an hour and a half - they could use the vocal part to torture gizmo detainees :)

As someone who has thought about this but never dared, this video is definitely inspiring. I think you nailed your goal - imparting both knowledge and confidence.

Two questions, if I may. Did I hear you right that a proper coil build will last a month or more? And second, do you change your wick during that period? A bit of an expansion on those points would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again for great vid.

Yes, a coil stays in my atomizers until I get bored, remove it to shoot a tutorial or I want to change resistance. I've run several dual and single coil builds for months. Never a coil failure.

The maintenance requirements of the coil will differ depending on the juice you run. In my case it's zero since I run unflavored nic base (10 - 12 mg nic in 90 - 98% VG) only a quick pulsing to dry the coils to insert new wick. If you run a dark juice that gunks up coils, you may require to wash it, dry burn it, tooth brush it - all of the above.

I change wicks on average once a week. That changes again if you use dark / gunky juice. They may require changes daily or several times daily in extreme cases :)

Well guess what? Came home today and sat down and decided I was going to get this right. Bought this kayfun clone and a fogger v4 was going to switch totally to rba so I needed to figure this out. And I finally got it. what I did was I mixed up a new batch of liquid far more pg than vg which super weakened my nicotine, then I raised the coil slightly, and I used cotton instead of the crap string they sent with the fogger. Now I meant to stop at cvs and get some organic cotton balls because no other store so far in my town carries organic cotton balls, but it us all snowy here today so I just came home and boiled some normal cotton balls. I notice no strange taste or anything. But then again I haven't tried the organic. Anyway...so different wick, less nicotine, and lifted my coil and now it's Use able. I'm sure someone that knows what they are doing could make it awesome, but I at least needed it to be as awesome as my crappy $7 smok aro. And now it is. So good enough for now. Unless of course someone that is awesome at this wants to take me under their wing and very slowly and explicitly explain to me how to make it super awesome.

Great. Now what do you wanna know :) I'd love to try to help :)

Thanks for the videos Super_X -I dig 'em and have learned a bunch. Caught the tip on prepping the Japanese cotton. It does seem to spin up a little easier with the rougher outer layers peeled off. Also I'll add that I bought the Odin as my first RDA after watching your reviews on it. The Odin rocks.

I've not watched this video on rebuilding but I will get to it. Probably be a good one to have with coffee on a Saturday morning.

Great tutorial, I'm a bit more confident and ready now for when my Magma clone arrives :)

And...now I've gotta go listen to Killswitch Engage because of them coming on near the end of the video :p

Thank you. Yes, I love killswitch and A7X and bands like that and always rebuild with it and similar stuff playing :)
