Okay I just couldn't read all of the "vaping is evil" thread...just too early for all that rubbish.

Anyway, my hubby has heart disease and asked his Doc if he had ever heard of the e-cigs. He said he hadn't and we let it be. He had to go in a few weeks later for some test results and the Doc had a total change in his knowledge. His Doc had a friend who he had apparantly talked to about the e-cig. His friend ended up getting one (no idea where from) and started using his new found toy to try to quit smoking. Doc said that three weeks later his friend had completely quit analogs after failing to quit countless times. His friend was also getting ready to put down his new e-cig and try to fly solo.

At this point Doc actually recommended my hubby get an e-cig and try it! He said he couldn't see any reason they wouldn't be safe and that it had to be better than smoking analogs. So after pestering hubby forever about getting off analogs because of his heart disease he gave his an alternative hubby could live with .. the e-cig, and a doctor recommendation to go with it.

We have both been using the M401 for 4 days now and loving it! I've had a few more problems adjusting than hubby has (I'm actually wondering if it's a weight thing actually). Both of us had some tightness in the throat but it's starting to go away now. I've felt a bit of a tightness in my chest and am starting to drink water (ugh I hate water). We made the mistake of ordering prefilled carts in the 24mg strength OUCH! Took my first puff, got the headrush from hell, immediately felt sick to my stomach, and didn't want to touch anything with nic for a whole 2hrs! Since then I've cut the 24m liquid we bought down to 12mg and emptied and refilled some carts. The 12mg seems to be going MUCH better.

I'd recommend e-cigs to anyone. Quitting analogs is scary stuff. Just the thought of it to an analog smoker causes your chest to tighten up, your brow to sweat, and that inner voice telling you to RUN! The e-cig made the transition easier than I could have hoped for. I'll admit I am vaping alot more than I smoked for the time being, but the switch hasn't caused me too much stress. I'm now vaping full time and off analogs completely and I have yet to bite anyones head off from withdrawal of any kind! I couldn't have asked for anything more, and all because we actually ASKED a Doc about a products we knew little about, turns out he knew less, but people talk and Doc's are people too! It's funny how a bit of curiosity can go a long way.

So for anyone out there bashing vaping and stating over and over again about safety. No it isn't tested, but it doesn't mean the medical community isn't starting to catch on and standing behind this new product all the same.

Well PG can irritate your throat or give an allergic reaction, you should try some pure VG juice.

Compare both the PG with Pure VG and see if there is a difference for you.

They say PG can suck out the water from your throat and make you feel like drinking water. This is not bad, I'm convinced PG is safe. I also believe some people have slight to moderate reactions to it. Both of you may have very slight reactions to that specific juice or PG in general and you may want to at least compare Pure VG juice to the PG you have and to other suppliers PG juices.

There maybe something else in that recipe which is also irritating you, beyond a dry throat.

Thanks Phalse :D Each day it seems to get better although I feel like I'm vaping like a fiend compared to smoking analogs. Must be the not having to go outside to smoke part of my life changing. It's just TOO easy to pick up my 401 and vape my little heart out lol

Mostly I just wanted to go against that stupid "vaping is going to kill you faster than analogs" thread. I hear far too often how it isn't a tested product and I agree we don't know all there is to know. I just thought maybe it might be nice to hear a positive for once. Like how some doctor's are actually RECOMMENDING these instead of smoking analogs. We aren't talking the FDA who is more concerned with taxing the crap out of everything and then chalking it up to public safety and health, but actual doctor's who are concerned with their patients health (even if they get paid to care they do at least care). I still think the only reason the FDA cares about ecigs or liquids is because they are losing their precious tax dollars on the products not because they are actually concerned with the safety of the product or the health of its users *shrugs* but maybe that's just me ;)
