Hello,

I am new to these e-cigs and only found out about it a couple of weeks ago on an advertisement of the radio show Coast to Coast with George Noory. Long story short, the next day is when I started to see the media talking about it and the FDA (those .......s!).

Back to my question, does the 0mg have any dangerous affects to the health? It is completely without any miniscule of nicotine, correct? Only reason I ask is because I am perplexed as to why they would make such a e-cig. What's the purpose?

Thanks

I think people become psychologically addicted to the physical action and feel of smoking. I think for some it's actually easier to give up nicotine then to give up the mechanics of taking a drag, inhaling, exhaling, etc. I know it is somewhat so for me. I intend to got to 0-nic vaping eventually - but that's a long way off. Right now I'm still trying to get completely off analogs and dealing with the learning curve. :)

Cheers,
Briar.

Many people start out higher and wean themselves down to zero.

For a lot of us, the physical actions mimicking smoking are as much a habit as the nicotine.

I doubt there are any problems other than minor ones (dry mouth, etc) associated with any e-cig use. However, since it's not been out that long, it's hard to say with any certainty. However, when looked at by comparison to cigarettes, whole 'nother ballgame and one in which common sense tells you it must be much better. The ingredients have been tested pretty exhaustively. They come out even better (harm-reduction wise) than the FDA-approved NRT's such as gum, patches, etc. -- a fact the FDA conveniently forgot to mention.

One thing about zero-nicotine juice: I'm almost certain that I've gotten carts that were mislabeled, or otherwise had some greater-than-zero amount of nicotine (maybe due to poor production practices, maybe due to the tobacco flavoring having a certain amount of carryover, I don't know), because I experienced anxiety attacks, sudden sweats, trouble sleeping (I never have trouble sleeping), and other symptoms that really seemed to me to be consistent with an overexposure to nicotine.

Since e-liquid is an as-yet-unregulated consumable product-- and some of it comes from China-- there's really no way to be absolutely sure what's in your juice unless you either make it yourself or buy it from a manufacturer you trust. Since I've switched entirely over to Johnson Creek juices, almost all of my side effects have gone away (and the remaining minor issues may well disappear too once JC comes out with a new PG-free recipe). I trust them because they're an American company, I'm comfortable calling them and asking questions, they list all their ingredients on the bottle, etc. And all their juices are now completely free of any tobacco extracts, so when they say zero-nicotine, I believe it.

That last bit's a double-edged sword for me, though. I wish somebody had a safe-to-vape, completely artificial tobacco flavor that tasted just like the real thing, because I miss it a lot. (Not the smoke part of the flavor, just the tobacco part.)

Holy Moly.. where did you get that info???

Try checking here, you might change your mind.

Nicotine - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

That's mainly about the nicotine in tobacco with regards to smoking. Yeah, nicotine is a "poison" but dosage is more important in poisoning than the actual substances - there are exceptions to that but nicotine isn't one of them.
