Does a 2.8 ohm coil produce more vapor than 2.4 or 1.8 ohm coils?

The opposite. The more resistance, the more resistance to the electricity coming from your battery. The lower the resistance, the more power going through those coils. 1.8 ohms would be okay on your eGo. Any lower than that and you would be risking having problems with your battery. I recommend you read up on OHMS LAW immediately.

You want your voltage to always be around 2 numbers more than your ohms. So at 1.8 ohms (thats almost 2) your going to want a voltage of at least 3.8 volts. This would be good for your eGo battery. Since your eGo battery is not variable voltage, you rely on the battery's charge. It will come fresh off the charger at 4.2 volts, and it will spend the majority of it's life in the 3.5 range.

Ah. You certainly could go higher and take advantage of a larger range of voltages without burning the wick than you could with lower resistances. You can't go much lower than 1.8 since you're working with an eGo battery, which has a pretty low wattage/amp limit.

But, if your using 1.8 ohm vivi heads now, at 3.8 to 4 volts, then in order to pull the same wattage with the 2.8 coil, you would need to use 4.8 to 5 volts. That would essentially give you the same vape you'd get from a 1.8 coil at 3.8 to 4 volts. But your eGo battery does have an amperage limit since it's a regulated mod, so you can't pull too large a gap between ohms/voltage. If you'd like a truly larger freedom, then you would want to purchase a big battery mod such as a Zmax, Vamo, or Provari. This would be your logical next step. After you have a regulated mod for a while, your next step could theoretically be mechanical mods. But not until you have a solid understanding of ohms law and battery safety, because you can harm yourself without proper knowledge prior to using low resistances.

Check out the battery safety thread in the mechanical mods forum here on ECF, and then checkout the stickied threads at the top of the rebuilding forums here on ECF.

hi guys new to vaping, picked up a evod starter kit from a local b&m last friday. im proud to say since ive had the evod, only one analog in the last week. im happy with the evods performance, but i would like to get more vapor out of it. would changing to a 1.8 coil (currently has 2.5o) get me more vapor and if change the resistance should i change the pg/vg %. thanks in advance.
