Does anyone have issues with their local stores and a lack of customer service??

I have a list of the stores in my area... I'm going to just keep on trying them until I find one that works for me. Thanks for giving me hope, lol. As for emailing the owner/ manager, I think that is an excellent idea.

Quite honestly, if I could find a good friendly store in my area I would be handing out their cards left and right. vaping has really taken off in my office and my circle of friends and we are all looking for a good local place to go.

I live in the same area, and have had good experiences at both Wicked Hot Vapors in Plano, and Vaporescence in Richardson. I'm 52, so I am on the older side of the customers that I have seen in the stores, but they have made me feel pretty much at home at both stores.

Just found a new b&m in Rockwall last week (LoneStar Vapor Store) on here so I went by Saturday morning. Staff were all very very friendly. Met the owner and he is the sweetest thing I have ever met, and I have been to ALOT of local b&m's. He and I actually had a lengthy discussion about the lack of customer service around now days which is something he is trying to focus (and in my opinion they are great). I was actually impressed alot by the young man who greeted me as I walked in when I started asking about rba's and he just happened to have one (haven't seen that in a b&m around here until now). I realize Rockwall is a bit far from you but if you ever get over that way you might want to stop in.

My local vape shop (well as local as I get to have one it’s an hour and a half away) has excellent customer service and are just an all around bunch of cool guys. Super knowledgeable and always make the trip seem worthwhile. I feel extra lucky after hearing some of the horror stories on this site. :glare:

Our local vape shop is manned by a noob husband and wife team......He gleefully approached my wife and myself stating how he has used his Ego Twist for 3 years, lol..

I mentioned that was incredible....seeing as they were released in September of 2012 in the USA, lol.

He tried to argue the point for about 10 more seconds......I pulled out my KT100 with an IGO-L on it at 1.2 ohms and blew a cloud of vapor out at him that blew his mind....

wished I had my cam with me

We have one small store where I live & they are okay. The original guy & I got off to a rocky start but now we're pretty much buddy buddy & joke & tease one another. I'm like another poster said, a LOT older than he is:laugh:
Some of these people may not be very comfortable because they really don't know what they are doing ... not really an excuse for poor service tho'. Since I've joined EFC I tend to do all my vape shopping online anyway.

It think it's like any business. Just depends on the owner, how involved they are in the day to day, and the work environment they cultivate.

No B&Ms in my area but I travel a lot and was running low on juice on a trip to Florida (I know...poor planning on my part) so I stopped into a hybrid tobacco/vape shop to see what they had. There was a (very) elderly lady in a walker berating the poor girl behind the counter because her favorite juice wasn't in stock and then left (slowly) in a huff.

After she left I started chatting with this young lady about their different juices when she turned around grabbed something out of her purse and ran out the door. When she came back in she explained she had just remembered her own personal stash of juice was similar to what the previous customer was looking for and ran out to give it to her. That's right...give...no charge (it wasn't a full bottle she said...and she had more).

Then...this little old lady in a walker comes shuffling back in, apologizes for yelling at her, and then insists on paying for the juice. Did I buy some juice from them? Hell yeah, I did.

So, if you're ever in Plant City, Florida and are desperate for some juice, look for Discount Tobacco and show 'em some love.

I live in the same area and got my favorite juice at Vapor Cabana in Addison. Friendly owners, and they mixed my juice to order (cherry pina colada with an extra flavor boost - yum!)

I'm always amazed when any locally owned store has bad service. I guess I am lucky that we have some pretty good B&M's here in San Antonio. Out of the three I only once had an issue with an employee and it was apparently because it was their 1st day on the job. Otherwise everyone has been very friendly and helpful!

Prices are a different story though, they can be what I think is reasonably more than internet shopping or just plain old price gouging. You just have to know the value of what it is you're getting and how much more you're willing to pay for it to get it locally and now. :) I will pay up to $6 more for an $18 to $20 piece of hardware at a B&M. They found a supplier and put up the money to order it, pay for their location and other overhead so I don't mind paying for instant gratification. lol I will not however pay that much more for one 30ml bottle of juice. :p

    I hope you find a good B&M.

I tend to believe that to coin an old phrase "The fish stinks from the head". What I mean is that generally the climate of a business and the attitude of it's workers all starts with the owner or boss of the business. Everything runs down hill. If the employee is disgruntled he will his attitude will reflect that toward the customer. S#&t runs down hill and unfortunately the customer is at the bottom of the hill. So though it might not be an industry characteristic it is probably a characteristic of a poorly run business. I have always found that when you pay the best you can attract the best and in so doing demand the best from your workers. That would mean good customer service.

A lot of shops have no clue to whats about to happen.I have tried more then once to explain the difference from a blu disposable and the carts that come in the kit. They all have no idea:from the owner all the way to customers. Some dont even want to hear what you have to say.Only the ones that are willing to give it a try.I can do this all day in my small town.:)

I have a store that I go to locally. The place is almost always packed, like a line out to the door. (I'm not exaggerating.) It's a small store, so it tends to be a long wait, especially since there's a lot of new vapers who need extra help to get started, and of course, need to ask a lot of questions about what to get for their first setup. So, the staff's nice, but incredibly busy most of the time.

If I have a lucky day when there's not a lot of people in there, I can ask questions and the folks are really nice. On the busy days, though, I just ask for my juice and get out of there.

One of the things I've noticed is that a lot of the people who work in smoke shops tend to be introverts--I don't know why, but they are. Introverts aren't rude, they're just kind of shy. Maybe once they've seen you come in a few times, they'll open up a bit? I'm in Washington, where people tend to be kind of introverted as a general rule, so I understand that they're not trying to blow people off, they just need some time to warm up to new people.

Or maybe the people in your store are a-holes. Wouldn't be the first time.

    I'm not helping, am I?

    Sorry!

No matter the industry, you EARN your money, let them EARN yours...Unfortunately for myself, there aren't any stores in my local area..so I use the online route...so far the companies I've dealt with have been fairly good...But when I hit a local store for anything, whether I'm knowledgeable or not, I let the sales person do their "job" and see how they want to "play it"...Most bs'ers you can see through in a second, the condescending ones get to watch my backside leave, those that want my money earn it..
