I have a few different types of clearos now as I've experimented, and I honestly just can't like my bottom coil mini clearos from SI. First, half of them leaked everywhere. Finally figured out how to get them to stop leaking and every last one tastes like burnt plastic (and burns my throat), despite the juice flavor or how long I let them wick before using them. I haven't had any similar issues with top coil with regular wicks, am I doing something wrong or are the ones from SI just junk?

The two really, really obvious things you are leaving out of this picture: what resistance are these fails and what voltage/wattage have you been trying to run them at?

I'm using a "clear" carto tank ............ does that count?

wouldn't this actually be an "MCC" (Mid Coil Carto) :)

NMHC...near middle horizontal coil.

I don't use clearomizers, don't care for them...prefer top coils..don't use them either.

My preference is a good BDC tank and the Aspires have done very well by me. I have the 'cheapie' (my opinion) mini vivi nova BDC tanks and the other Aspires. I like them both but the Aspire mini vivi nova is made cheaply and will not last long I fear.

I really do like the carto tanks as well and I have two from the old Valley View Vapes (since closed) and 3 Boge tanks and one Smok DCT pyrex. I like them all. The VVV tanks might be the best for a number of reasons. However, it is the carto inside that really seems to make the difference. I have some cheap ones, come Smoke dual coils, some Boge single coils and the testing continues. I will definitely say that the cheap ones are just that. Out of 10 (I have tried maybe 4) I had one DOA, one that lasted a day and the other two have been just fine. Not had the quality problems with the Smok or the Boge cartos.

I liked them OK. When I first started using them I thought they were the be all end all of vaping devices. BUt then I started dripping and I haven't touched any one of the 8 different clearos I own. I find them to be too much fiddling with them cleaning out the tanks It seemed to me that juices burned in them a lot easier. The flavor is OK but not great. I also had a couple of vivi novas and they aere about the same. Not as much fussing around but much harder to clean out in my opinion. Then I got a dripper and it has a bit of a learning curve, so my first few builds were not great. After I was shown proper build techniques I was floored by the flavor possibility. Coils last forever and replacing a wick is quick and easy. I can do it in 20 seconds. But if your not careful they can leak on you. I use plenty of cotton and don't over drip so I don't have too many leaks. Some guys don't use a lot of cotton and the juice will just run out of the air hole if not careful.

The only thing I've found so far I don't like about bcc's is that they sometimes gurgle. Other than that and a couple minor leaking issues, mostly due to the atomizer not being in just right, I have enjoyed the few I've tried. I have tried a Kanger T3S, evod style and a protank clone. I've also enjoyed the iClear 16 top coil, and a mini Vivi nova style I have works well though is hard to take apart.

my experience with bottom coil clearos shows that they will always flood at some point, rarely leak, but most often than not, have a burnt taste. gotta go easy on the wattage. nice to try juices, but for real vaping you need a KF or a igo or similar. top coils are interesting. forget about gennys/rsst. not worth the hassle. keep in mind that this is a sample of one :) other's mileage will vary.

We use the minis from SI and we love them. None of ours have a burnt taste nor do they leak. SI is our sole provider of vaping items and we haven't had the first problem with them. Don't give up on them. they have good prices and great customer service.

My current experience with bottom feed clearos/tanks have been less than favorable, I have found wick feeding to be more reliable and less leaky. I've ran through 5 tanks, 2 bottom feeds and haven't been impressed by either of them and find myself using my iClear 30s more than anything else at the moment. About to make the bump up to a RBA so I can start to play with Cotton wicking and some other stuff to see what kind of mischief I can get into

Be careful for me. BCCs have a tendency to gurgle when they are half full. So you might get a hit of hot juice when you inhale. THe bet thign to do is buy thicker ejuice or go with a larger tank.

In my experience buying thicker juice, as you described above, can only make matters worse.
