Does distilled water make your vapor more "moist"?

I used to use DW before I started using PEG400 (PG sensitive) and well, it did sort of improve flavor in some nebulous way but didn't really affect the moistness of the mix.

My go tos for mouthfeel are marshmallow or merengue (if it's a mix that can support it) adds less sweetness than cotton candy but still rounds things out.

I am also a fan of MTS Wizard additive for dry mixes where I don't want to change very much other than the mouthfeel and giving things smoothness and juiciness, I' m usually surprised at how well it works. I've tried Dragonfruit (not cactus) and I think @Letitia is correct that at a low percentage it will add moistness without changing a ton else.

I honestly really don't think that distilled water will do much for you in this matter.

Several years ago several of us were trying to overcome the dryness problem and someone came up with adding a saline solution. I bought a container of saline wound wash and transferred it from the spray container it comes in over to a glass bottle. I have continued adding it to my VG mix. I add 9% distilled water and 4% saline solution to my VG. My mix might make the VG too thin for some but it works for me and solved the dryness problem I was experiencing.

It worked for me also when I was using a much higher vg mix than I do now. So good to see you hanging out with us again.....You have been missed.....

I stopped using PG and replaced it with DW.
I dont know if using DW instead of PG makes for a more moist vape but I do know that I personally dont suffer from the same dryness in my mouth and throat that I did using PG.
I know what I just said suggests that DW makes for a more moist vape but PG does more to me than just dry out my mouth and throat so maybe DW for me is just giving me the same experience other people get with PG.
Using DW does give flavours a bit of sharpness, which can be good or bad.
Its really easy and very cheap to experiment with DW.

Thank you sweetie  I have gotten so settled with flavors and equipment I felt I didn't have much to add to the conversations so kind stayed in the background when I stopped in to read a while. With all the newer stuff out there now most of the new member stuff goes right over my head much like it did when I first started this journey so usually don't have any thing to add to the convo.. :)

Oh but you do still have lots of experience and the same principals still apply as they did many years ago. I had totally forgotten about the saline even tho it is still in glass jars in my cabinets.

Please come join us in the DIY forum. We usually hang out on the mixing thread and have some fun. Here is a link. Give it a peek and see if it suits you.......hope to see you more often. Don't be shy.

Maybe it could be the tank. I have been vaping the BBG in a SMOK TF-RTA whereas I vape my Wintergreen in a Serpent SMM. I do have a spare SMM I could setup to try, but I think I will wait a few days until I receive the sample of Rayon that @Sugar_and_Spice has graciously sent. If that doesn't fix this, then I'll order some cactus juice or dragon fruit and try that.

Thanks everyone.

I bet it's the flavor not the tank. I have an RY4 that does exactly what you're talking and so do some of my custards. Now most fruits I have don't do this, I think it has to do with the taste buds. Just like some foods make you drool and others don't, I could be wrong though.

I think you are right, but it doesn't hurt to test what I have on hand before buying new flavors to try. At least that's my philosophy anyway.

Very interesting. I had never heard of using saline before. I think we may have some of that, if so I may give that a try. If not I'll definitely keep that in mind. Thanks for the tip.

Scott,
IIRC, I picked this up at walmart in the pharmacy area. It was the only kind they had on the shelf(luckily exactly what mattiem was taking about) and it is the sterile kind. Does not cost much only a couple of bucks or so. And it does work.

I have an Italian study on this one and if you wish I can translate it for you. Going for 50/40/10, 10 being double-distilled water that you can get for a penny at a pharmacy, the vaporization process is able to start more easily and at a lower temperature. That makes the possibility of chemical heat-related reactions between pg/vg and flavours much scarcer, hence the profit :)
Plus the liquid you obtain this way is easier on the coils.

Assuming the 50 is VG, the 40 is PG and the 10 is DW, that would be some mighty thin juice. I imagine you would need some hellacious wicking to keep that from leaking which is why I never tried it.

I agree though, that adding DW makes the PG and VG compounds more resistant to thermal degradation. That was my hypothesis back in January and was subsequently tested by ECF's very own Mikepetro in April. My hypothesis seemed to have been proven in his testing. Just out of curiosity I wouldn't mind seeing the Italian report. Also when was this study conducted? It would be TOO funny if they got the idea from Mike and I and the above linked posts.
