I made a conscious decision to exercise restraint in my vaping purchasing. This, of course, it's harder than it seems. I spent a lot of time reading ECF forums and when I read about a new product I do feel the compulsion to buy it. Also, there are days when I will explore the e-juice review forums and have been influenced to the point of purchasing certain liquids. Still, I feel that I have had good overall control. There have been a few instances when my cart is full and I am about to click the "buy" button but then reconsider and cancel the order. I think that we become engrossed about vaping because it has proven to be such a great tecnology for us smokers, allowing us to quit almost pain free after decades of addiction to cigarettes. It is this amazing fact that keeps me from feeling any guilt about vaping too much, spending too much money or constantly signing into ECF. Also, remember that we are pioneers in this era where cigarettes are becoming obsolete; I think that this technology does have the potential to erradicate cigarettes once and for all.

Wow, lots of great responses! Thanks. :)

I do have my stuff very organized and in easily accessible drawers, so it's not that. I think a lot of it is trial and error for me right now with which PV I like and do I want a tank or a clearomizer or what. I'm trying flavors and haven't found my all-day vape so I'm dripping and switching a lot. I just bought some DIY stuff, which I think will work well for me because I love cooking, making up recipes, and taste-testing the results.

I just needed to be reassured that once I find what works best for me, I'll be able to devote less time to all of this. I am enjoying experimenting and discovering new things, but I also have to keep up with all the other demands on my time, unfortunately. I feel better now that you all have commented.

Until I got the lavatube I was always thinking I needed to find a better ecig. When I started it was just a janty 510, an ego or a cig lookalike available to us so it was more of a case of waiting on something better to happen.

Since CE2s, I've been using them exclusively so that sorted my heating element and with the lavatube I can vape all day at the voltage I want.

I also have a minimal selection of juices I DIY that don't take a lot of effort that I really like enough to keep using without thinking I want more.

For me, yes, vaping is not the forefront of my attention anymore and I doubt it will be again. I'm satisfied with my gear so I don't feel driven to keep up with the joneses.

It's a lot cheaper now too. £12 per 3 months or so I think for liquid to DIY into and a CE2 pack every 6 months or so which is barely a fiver in the right places.

Vaping has replaced ALL the cigarettes in my life. Over the last two years, while searching, reading, and learning about ecigs here on ECF, I've made some good friends, started a thread for musicians, and I check in several times a day.

I'm early retired and have more time to do that kind of thing. Whether the vaping community becomes a pastime for you depends on how much time you spend here. The more you find out about new stuff, the more you will post to talk about it. Then, you will get curious about what you may be missing out on, and you'll be back here researching who likes what!

It's addictive.

I am still in the 'honeymoon' phase... 5 tabs on my browser right now: facebook, ecf, youtube (vape reviews), twitter (mostly vape), juice vendor

I'm watching so many reviews my ears have permanent red marks from the earbuds.

Only 5 tabs huh? Light weight. :)
This was me the other morning with my preferred way of catching up on forums. That's one window for ECF. I also had windows open for CruiseMates and CruiseCritic, as well as FocusFanatics (Ford Focus owners)

A little exaggeration, but not much. I only started vaping a couple of weeks ago, but I'm already concerned with how much of my life it seems to be taking over. Granted, smoking took over a lot of my life because I was always worried about where and when I would be able to have my next one and making sure I didn't run out of smokes, but I thought vaping would mean more freedom. I find, by my own fault, of course, that I'm spending hours every day reading about vaping, ordering new stuff, trying new juices, filling carts, organizing my supplies, making my own juice, etc.

I'm just wondering if, for those of you who don't consider this a hobby to tinker with, you got to a place, once you found your all-day vape and a sufficient PV and got organized, where you fill up what you need to fill up once a day and then just vape occasionally throughout the day instead of spending a large chunk of your day devoted to all things vaping? I realize you still have to set aside time to re-order stuff and DIY if you do that, but other than that.

I know it's hard to read intention through the internet, so I want to be very clear that I'm not being judgmental or critical of anyone's choices. Everyone, and I mean everyone, on here has been fantastic and I feel very fortunate to have found this haven. I'm just trying to get a feel for the different ways veterans integrate vaping into their daily lives.

Thanks in advance for the info. :)

 It keeps me from robbing Kwik shops....
