Does it really taste like that?

I'm vaping watermelon from Cignot, and (nothing against Cignot, i love them!) to me it tastes only very very subtly like watermelon, and perhaps slightly more like diesel exhaust (j/k!). Then again, i'm using a 510, which i understand is a little on the harsh, emphasis-on-throat-hit-over-flavor side.

most do,just not the respective brand they try to emulate.
an example would be the various camel juice(taste like wet tobacco to me)
and the popular marlboro juice tried 2 so far one tasted like stall cookies and creme the other tasted like gingerbread.
I find the last 2 non offensive maybe even a little tasty but no cigar far effort.
on the other hand the turkish blends appeal more to camel smokers than the camel knock offs
my cuzz is a 2 and a half pack a day camel smoker his buddy smokes camel too and they both prefer turkish blend.
You'll find you like allotta the knock offs even though they don't taste like the real thing.

are all a good place to start.

BTW I haven't tried halo juice yet but massive amounts of former marlboro smokers swear by them.

I'm starting to regret ordering 2 bottles of tobacco flavor now, I got a 16MG and a 24MG to see the difference in taste etc with more or less nic.
I got 555 witch I've heard good things about, I also picked up chocolate and cappuccino any one tried these from greenhouseone?

I wouldn't worry about the tobacco juices, I have yet to try any that tasted terrible.

In all fairness though, with all the chemicals sprayed on the tobacco in cigs I don't think many people know what true tobacco is supposed to taste like anyway. I certainly don't.

I dunno, i've tried a good amount of juice from a few vendors and very few imo are even close to what they claim. The watermelon i got from rocky mountain tastes exactly like a watermelon jolly rancher. That's all well and good if they called it jolly ranch watermelon or something. The pineapple from viking vapor tastes like watered down pineapple soda but not pineapple... there's a big difference.

Personally my fav was cappucino from JC but they don't make it anymore and i haven't found a decent cappucino replacement yet. I've tried a few and they just don't cut it or taste bad to me.

I have recently fallen in love with USA mix and have 50ml coming along with cuban which i heard good things about. Trying a new vendor (to me) MadVapes and at $12 for 50ml i figure it's a good gamble.

Do they taste like tobacco at all?

I've yet to find a tobacco flavor that tastes even remotely like cigarette smoke, and I've tried a number of them. The best tobacco flavors taste like the smell of unsmoked loose tobacco or sorta how a fresh pack smells. The worst ones taste like tannins, sawdust, musk, bergamot, old woman perfume, and ginger.

I've tried the various Dekang tobacco flavors, Halo Freedom, Halo Smooth 8, Boba's Bounty, and some others and none of them came close. It may just be a limitation of the device that certain flavors are unique to real burning tobacco and that's that. YMMV...lots of people do like those flavors.

So I moved on and now vape mostly beverage and dessert-type flavors, which yes some do actually taste similar to their descriptions.

I ordered some RY4, and I'm pretty sure I'll like it, but I think I will also get a Turkish blend, as Turkish tobacco was definitely my preferred choice when smoking. I haven't tried any tobacco flavor yet as I had a feeling that if I tried to stop smoking by imitating smoking with flavor, I'd fail, so I went the route of fruit flavor right off the bat so that I couldn't say, "Oh, blech, this sucks. Where's my pack of smokes?" Of course the flavor could have been horrible and tasted like ....-covered cherry, but thankfully it didn't.

This is how I look at it, and the same thing I told my husband - it's like Jelly Belly jelly beans - it might taste pretty darn close to buttered popcorn, but it's no replacement for the real thing. You can't recreate a natural product (i.e. popcorn) with a man-made product. I'm sure some juice vendors get closer than others, but since taste is so subjective, the vendor and his/her test audience could say, "Man, that tastes just like a root beer float!" but when you get it, you can't find a hint of "float" in it anywhere. I'm vaping cherry as I said, and can barely taste it, but my husband says it's obviously cherry so I'm sure it is.
